[edit]

This article was proposed for deletion in January 2008. The nominator's justification was:

Subject matter is already covered in other articles.

I replied on the nominator's talk page, pointing that many of the articles that linked guest house were from related articles that clearly distinguished between guest houses, and the topics of those related articles.

The nominator did not bother replying. Geo Swan (talk) 16:31, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting unexplained or poorly explained excisions

[edit]

I reverted several months of unexplained excisions.

Then I trimmed two paragraphs that I agree cited advertizing. The site of "LE PAVILLON DE GALON" does not even mention the term "guest house" once. It sounds like it was once a luxurious country home, that is now rented to high-rollers. I agree, that from its description it would be a guest house, because the staff, and/or management, and/or owners, don't live on site, and don't work on site.

The italian web-site is just a listing, and does not distinguish between B & Bs and guest houses.

If you want to make an excision, please explain your reasoning here on the talk page.

Cheers! Geo Swan (talk) 16:12, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I partially reverted two recent excisions.
The coverage of courses in guest house management is not "advertizing". It is substantiation that those in the hospitality field recognize a guest house as distinct from hotels or bed and breakfasts. That guests in japan pay a damage deposit is also remarkable and merits mention here. Geo Swan (talk) 09:50, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am concerned...

[edit]

I am concerned that the editor who made this edit, with the edit summary of "rm links to sites with WP:COI not supporting assertions in article" did not really check the references.

I fail, for instance, to see how the ref to the USCG guest house, open only to USCG personnel, could be a conflict of interest. Geo Swan (talk) 21:37, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
