Why a table?
On Tour and Aerosmith both have tables because songlists have actually been posted and confirmed. However I don't see ANYTHING like that we could use to start making any sort of official looking table like the one this article now has. The original layout of the Soundtrack section made far more sense for now. -- TRTX T / C 13:58, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, way too early to make the songs into a table; I think once we get 10 or so, it makes sense, right now, we just want to report what bands have been confirmed. --MASEM 14:13, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- I was able to track down the original edit that turned it into a table. I've "rolled back" to the previous appearance. Did a compare and there's no info that's been lost.
Any reference for the EU release?
The release date for Europe doesn't have a reference. Is it just a placeholder or has it been confirmed? If so, where? Trogdorguy (talk) 23:07, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
"...just like Rock Band"
I want to explain this edit, as I'm guessing it could get some heat. I was reading the article, and I realized just how many times the phrase "much like Rock Band" or "just like Rock Band" was used. Now, I know that the comparisons are heavily made, but I don't feel that this is the place to do it. Seems almost POVish to me. So I rewrote the article to try and remove these constant comparisons, which also helps to flesh out the description (instead of saying "It does this like Rock Band", say what it does so people don't have to go back and read Rock Band to know about World Tour). -- TRTX T / C 13:03, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Hey, there's no refrence for Metallica.
Why are they on the list of bands that were leaked? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.185.167.45 (talk) 13:15, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- Wishful thinking....and vandalism. Just like 90% of songs that get added to these types of articles. -- TRTX T / C 14:48, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Def Leppard hasn't been confirmed.
Why are they on that list of leaked bands? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.185.167.45 (talk) 16:00, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Whole bunch of new stuff confirmed from IGN
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/882/882949p1.html
I currently lack the effort to add all this new info to the page, but it is out there and confirmed. Anyone who wishes to add this in it's proper format, feel free. I've never edited the wiki before, so I felt someone with more experience could accomplish it better. --Zepp3lin526 (talk) 04:25, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Most already added that's new. --MASEM 04:29, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Guitar Hero 3 DLC on Wolrd Tour.
Ok, I know it's from Kotaku, and thus could just be hearsay, but they're saying that GH3 DLC actually will work with World Tour:
http://kotaku.com/5018312/yes-guitar-hero-iii-downloads-will-work-in-guitar-hero-world-tour
IGN is arguably a more solid source, so it makes sense to have them as the source, but they have been wrong in the past...
Is there anyone else reporting the same thing as Kotaku? I've only found a few sites, and they both lead back to the Kotaku article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BrotherEstapol (talk • contribs) 14:04, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's the only source saying it, so until we get a more reliable source, we'll need to go with what IGN is saying. --MASEM 14:07, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Update on shipping date
The date has moved from the 27th of October to the 21st of October. [1] KingLinkTiger (talk) 15:25, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- (Please place new topics at the bottom of talk pages, thanks!) Unfortunately, we do not go by stores for future shipping dates - we need to go by what is stated by the game makers or producers or reliable sources. The stores just want a date in their database so they can start getting pre-orders for it. --MASEM 15:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
There is gonna be downloadable content for wii
BANDS
PLEASE!!!!! for once will everyone just leave the band list there!!! God. I just no someone is going to be a jerk and delete it. It is just a speculation and should just be left there. It is just interesting for people to see it and say HMM, I hope that band really is in the game. PLEASE AGAIN just leave it there until the official list is announced!!!! PLEASE!!! --24.63.18.184 (talk) 16:51, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Bands
- NOTE: Not all of these bands are comfirmed but are speculated to be in the game.**
~Bold means confirmed bands, italics are the leaked ones.~
Allman Brothers, At the Drive-In, Billy Idol, Bon Jovi, Boston, Blind Melon, Blink-182, CCR, Coldplay, Def Leppard, The Doors, Dream Theater, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Interpol, Jane's Addiction, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Eat World, Lenny Kravitz, Linkin Park, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Michael Jackson, Modest Mouse, Muse, Nirvana, No Doubt, Oasis, Paramore, Steve Miller, Smashing Pumpkins, Sublime, Silversun Pickups, The Answer, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, System of a Down, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police
Removing this, but putting it on the talk page. This section needs to be cleaned up if we're going to include it, but a list of speculated bands with no source definitely does not belong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.133.8.248 (talk) 17:06, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Moving to bottom of page. And if there's no source, you can just wipe it. There's no need to archive anything like this. -- TRTX T / C 18:19, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
VAN HALEN IN GUITAR HERO IV
I am a huge fan of Van Halen, and I cannot wait until Guitar Hero 4 comes out so i can see what song(s) would be under they're name. I just hope it's a really big hit like "Jump" or "Panama" and not something unfamiliar to most people. please inform me on the song(s) they are doing. --99.10.22.24 (talk) 15:51, 1 July 2008 (UTC)A R

Australian Release Date
Hi All,
Just curious if anyone has seen any mention of an Australian release date for Guitar Hero 4, I have searched around, but have seen no mention of it. Rock Band hasn't made it here yet, so I'm hoping that we'll get this one in a reasonable timeframe. 203.35.251.18 (talk) 03:59, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
More reasonable than a year and a month after the NA release at least (Nov 2007->Dec 2008). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.90.147.221 (talk) 12:10, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar
Is the new guitar made for Guitar Hero World Tour compatible with previous Guitar Hero games? The says article says that older guitars can be used for GHWT, but not if the new guitar works for the older games (i.e. Guitar Hero 1, 2, 3, and Aerosmith). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.167.255.155 (talk) 01:22, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
PC Version
Has this even been confirmed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.32.215.105 (talk) 21:26, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- No. That was added anonymously and has never been announced. Numerous PC sources have info on the game, but there is no indication anywhere that there will be a PC version (and considering the nature of the game, I am skeptical about any possibility of this). I have removed it. Orcaloverbri9 (talk) 01:08, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Guitar Hero 4 is expected sometime next year for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. - http://www.digitalbattle.com/2008/05/10/guitar-hero-4-at-the-drive-in/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Javulticat (talk • contribs) 18:25, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm hesitant to rely on that, since it's the only place it's ever been directly stated, it's not official, it's over two months old, and it doesn't even mention the PS2 version, which has (and at the time had) been officially announced. It might still be true, but I think we need another source. Orcaloverbri9 (talk) 05:51, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
I see that the ESRB has rated the game for the PC --however there is no RS that states this (quoting ESRB is not sufficient for us). A day or two may produce the needed article. --MASEM 06:02, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
DLC bands?
Is there a link to confirm that DragonForce, Foo Fighters, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Metallica have DLC for Guitar Hero World Tour? I think someone may have just put it there Martyrofrebirth (talk) 16:11, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
EU release?
Why is the EU release after the NA release? I see nothing that references this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.151.103.76 (talk) 20:56, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

"Formerly" is more accurate
Originally billed as "the next Guitar Hero" and Guitar Hero IV, Activision has officially dropped the "IV" and now refers to it simply as Guitar Hero: World Tour. In this sense, the game is no longer "also" the 4th game in the series, just as Rocks the 80's and GH:Aerosmith weren't Guitar Hero IV. "Formerly" reflects that it was once billed as such, but that it is no longer the case. In fact, I would recommend that once the game is released that that piece is removed form the lead and instead placed in developement, as it was something that changed as the game drew closer to launch. -- TRTX T / C 18:06, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- We need to still refer to it as GH4 in some manner, given current references/quotes that use that title, though I agree "formally" is not the right word. "Working title" may be better, even though Activision never released anything that said GH4, it was third parties. --MASEM 18:44, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Soundtrack Tip
I was wondering whether if it would be possible to list the soundtrack as a list (Like the one Rock Band 2 article and basically all of the Guitar Heroes articles have). I'd really like this feature, because sometimes it can get a little bit confusing when I'm looking at the Soundtrack part. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.23.227.92 (talk) 13:18, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- I don't believe there are any fully confirmed songs at this time, or at least, not enough to warrant building a brand new table format like we've been doing for previuos games. -- TRTX T / C 15:29, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Wii and Ds Version Concerns
Is the Wii version going to actually have good graphics? it stuns me to watch the band play in number 3 (they look like bad disneyworld anamatronic robots), and I'm not doing that good in Aerosmith because I get frightened when close-ups of their faces are showing (or, in Steven Tylers' case, start cracking up at his movements). I mean, Sega proved that the Wii could do excellent graphics with the cut-scenes from Sonic and the Secret Rings, and that was almost two years ago! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cartoonist13 (talk • contribs) 21:19, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Guitar Hero: Metallica Edition
Recently theres been rumors of a guitar hero just for Metallica(like Areosmith) But not long ago it was confirmed. Its should be out sometime next year 2009. they already got a cover for it on xbox 360 http://www.vgboxart.com/boxes/360/6318.jpg —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.226.134.142 (talk) 07:07, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
