Brother of Smash Mouth Singer

There is no way he is the brother of the singer of Smash Mouth. This sounds like something made up because they have similar hair. The citation just says one of the episodes. Can anyone verify this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.61.224.109 (talk) 23:26, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

BETTER PICTURE

This picture of Guy is not the best. Surley someone can find one where he doesn't have something blocking half his face and where hes not sweaty/and or greasy. Please fix. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.15.30.125 (talk) 20:39, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Not done: Apparently Restaurateur is the correct spelling. Cannolis (talk) 15:41, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

Spouse(s) Lindsey Hudak (2017-Present)

Guy's spouse is "Lori Fieri" not Lindsey Hudak - she is boasting on Twitter that she's changing things on his page. Rpariser (talk) 16:38, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

"Straight" Male Viewers?

This article currently has the following sentence (emphasis added):

In 2010, the New York Times reported that Fieri brought an "element of rowdy, mass-market culture to American food television," and that his "prime-time shows attract more straight male viewers than any others on the network."[1]

Specifying the viewers as "straight" seemed a little strange to me, so I checked the source. Sure enough, the word "straight" was not in the original quote:

“He really resonates with men,” Ms. Fogelson said, adding that Mr. Fieri’s prime-time shows attract more male viewers than any others on the network.

Pending some sort of explanation, I'm editing the article to reflect the source. BlindMic (talk) 07:01, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Guy's Training

Everything I have ever read on Guy says he went to college at the university of Las Vegas & the studied 6 yrs abroad a exchange student. Not that he went to work with Stouffer's right out of high school. Please provide the source for this info.

Remove NYTimes review?

I'm not seeing how it relates to Fieri, nor why'd we'd put such weight to a review of one of his restaurants. --Ronz (talk) 22:23, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

I agree, more or less. I can see one sentence description of the review up where the article talks about his various restaurants, but I definitely don't think it deserves its own section, because it doesn't directly relate to Fieri. -Brycehughes (talk) 22:38, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
Since it was already mentioned, I removed the section and used the review as a source for the mention of his New York restaurant. --Ronz (talk) 02:04, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

???

"In 2010, he appeared in a commercial for Aflac named 'Spicy.'"

What the hell does this mean? Since when do commercials have names? Is the a slogan he repeats?Stealstrash (talk) 05:38, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

I fixed the reference. Looks like it was indeed a commercial named "Spicy." -Brycehughes (talk) 08:19, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes...believe it or not all productions, even commercials, have names.--Mark Miller (talk) 10:00, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

wording of picture caption

shouldn't the captioning of the picture be reworded? Needs2learnmore (talk)

Why do you think it should be changed? It describes the picture as to who is doing what and where, as captions should do. If you are referring to his name, the name used in the article should always be the one that most people knows the person by. regarding restaurants

I have read a few stories on various sites that he recently (as of November 11th of this year) he closed a Johnny Garlic in Sacramento. Where can this be fixed? I don't think the entry reflects this event 23:00, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

If you can produce an accurate and reliable source for this claim, you can insert it at the appropriate section yourself. Just add the source as a reference. You may want to look at the Help:Referencing for beginners for this. (And please sign your posts with the four squiggles ~~~~ for a correct signature.) Also remember, sentences start with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation in an encyclopedia, this is not texting. - w.carter-Talk 13:00, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
Yep I completely forgot about that. I have goggled the incident in question of this section and I've come up with an article from I believe the sf eater and a few others. Will check into the Referencing for beginners as wellNeeds2learnmore(talk) 07:42, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

possible references to Sacramento restaurant closing

I can't quite get the cite feature figured out but I did find a few sites that explains why the Johnny Garlic's closed any help figuring this or is appreciated. Not sure how to put this as a reference or citation but this is one link. http://sfist.com/2014/11/11/guy_fieri_closes_one_of_his_bay_are.php#. here's another link http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2014/11/10/johnny-garlics-closes-in-sacramento-19-months-after-converting-from-tex-wasabis/ Needs2learnmore(talk) 08:06, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Reason for surname change

His paternal grandfather was of Italian descent; Fieri changed his surname, Ferry, back to his family's original surname, Fieri, when he got married in 1995, in order to honor his immigrant great-grandfather, Giuseppe Fieri. That's a confusing sentence. Why the initial focus on the grandfather when the name change was to honor the great-grandfather? I would rewrite it as "Fieri is of Italian descent, and changed his surname..." etc. 2605:E000:7F06:C600:7D96:C340:C20B:8C6 (talk) 03:25, 10 July 2016 (UTC)

Pronunciation

@Nardog: In the interview, he only said "the ERI in Italian is rolled", not that it should be pronounced like that in English specifically. In the video I cited, he clearly pronounces it with a tap, and he seems to be more than okay with people pronouncing it as such.
--maczkopeti (talk) 17:15, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

@Maczkopeti: Ahh, I didn't realize at the time that the second paragraph was a comment by the interviewer. You're right, it's not so much that he recommends the trill then. I stand corrected. Nardog (talk) 23:00, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Can this article be unprotected? It's been protected since 2018 so maybe the vandals at that time have given up by now. I'd like to add something from this. 2602:24A:DE47:BB20:50DE:F402:42A6:A17D (talk) 07:10, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
