Peacock Wording[edit]

The wording that stands out as puffery for me includes :

  • HEARTLAND RVs also extends their brand and customer experience to the Heartland Owners Club and the Heartland Owners Forum.
  • HEARTLAND RVs hit a personal milestone by rolling out its 12,000 RV off the Bighorn assembly line. How can a corporation have a personal anything?
  • They recognized the event in a brief ceremony with management and production workers. woo hoo
  • Landmark was introduced with industry first features such as a Universal Docking Center (UDC), Texas-sized unobstructed pass through storage, and a patent pending front cap design for an 88 degree turn with a short box truck.
  • Heartland RV has 11 facilities that support customer service, subassembly (i.e. countertops and laminated sidewalls) and full unit manufacturing. Total manufacturing capacity is 600,000 square feet.
It's obvious, and non-encyclopedic, that if a company makes stuff it has factories in which it does so.
  • There are about 450 dealers that sell Heartland product in the United States as well as International Dealerships in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
It's obvious, and non-encyclopedic, that if a company sells stuff it has a sales network through which it does so.
  • The firm’s other investments are companies such as Breyers Yogurt Co., Build-A-Bear Workshop, Kettle Foods and the Outback Steakhouse restaurant chain. Are we going to get the complete stock portfolio of every investor?
  • Heartland has a free factory tour year-round with extra tours during the summer months. The factory tour takes about 1 hour and start daily Monday-Thursday at 3 PM.
It's already been stated they have multiple factories. Do ALL of them do tours at the same time? Is this encyclopedic?
  • Source: Statistical Surveys, Inc.; reports are subscription based
It's not a source that can be freely verified if it needs a subscription. If it can't be verified it's puff.
  • In November 2008, Heartland RVs formally launched an RV Lifestyle owners club called the "Heartland Owners Club". The club covers North America and has 24 chapters. The club is managed fully-online. The club is currently headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana.
The company uses a "club" to generate repeat sales ~ hardly encyclopedic.

  • Today Heartland has 1100 employees as a privately held manufacturer of recreational vehicles in North America. ~ when is "Today"?

It appears all peacock points above have been addressed through Bazj's edit except for:

  • Stats. Recognizing one needs a subscription, while that is a limiting factor in the information availability, I do believe statistics are encyclopedic and important. They should also be juxtaposed with other industry players

Question I have:

  • "International Dealerships in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand"
while a company that sells things will have a sales network, I believe the footprint of that sales network is a key defining point and encyclopedic in defining the history of a company, a cultural and social way of life, and the sociological transfer of a way of life across cultural boarders

"the footprint of that sales network is a key defining point and encyclopedic in defining the history of a company,..." ~ fair point
"...a cultural and social way of life, and the sociological transfer of a way of life across cultural boarders" ~ "Up to a point, Lord Copper."
If the international footprint is illustrating the company's history it would be illuminating to know when they went international, was it early in the company's history, did it follow the cash injection from the private equity fund, or was it a way of absorbing excess production capacity following the post-Katrina boom?
At this point I can only refer you to the guidance on verifiability (among the other pillars), recommend you're aware of the guidance on neutrality (given your contributions' focus on RVs, Heartland, & Elkhart) and encourage you to be bold. Bazj (talk) 18:40, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sales numbers[edit]

I removed the sales numbers section as I don't really feel it is encyclopedic to list. Open to comments if others disagree. --CNMall41 (talk) 02:03, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kitchen table / counter replacement[edit]

I have a 2016 Heartland big country 3900 FLP. The original kitchen table and counter was removed by previous owner and I would like to put it back in. Is this something that I can purchase? Garry and Jane Claussen Claussen4 (talk) 17:13, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
