Very notable person. Awarded a prestigious medal in 1950. Again in the news years later. Stephanie Bowman (talk) 04:03, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. He's clearly notable according to WP:BLPNOTE because he's received coverage in at least dozens of WP:RSs, including the New York Times, The Independent, Haaretz, and The Forward:
A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject.
I do think the entry should be changed from "Hank" to "Henk". I haven't seen any WP:RS refer to him as "Hank." --Nbauman (talk) 07:34, 17 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Henk Zanoli has never received the Yad Vashem award[edit]

The Yad Vashem award was first introduced by the State of Israel in 1953. The 2012 database of Yad Vashem shows that only the mother of Henk Zanoli, Jacoba Johanna Zanoli - Smit has been awarded by Yad Vashem in 2011. [1][2] This is confirmed by Yad Vashem in their response to Henk Zanoli's return of his mother's award in 2014 in Tabletmagazine. Contacted on Sunday, Yad Vashem said of Zanoli’s decision, “we are sorry for his loss, and regret his decision to return his mother’s medal. The survivor passed away as far as we know.” [3] --Oosthoektimes (talk) 07:44, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
