Date of Birth for Henry Smith Lane[edit]

Page 120 or "Biographical and Historical Sketches of Early Indiana" by William Wesley Woollen states that the date of birth of Henry Smith Lane was 11 February 1811; however, his tombstone at Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana clearly shows a date of 24 February 1811 (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=8477). This date is also at the entry for him on Political Graveyards (politicalgraveyard.com/bio/lane.html).

While being carved into his tombstone does not prove the date, it is strong evidence compared to a biography written in 1975.

Comments are welcomed.
