Stub

[edit]

I do believe this is a stub. Chenzo23 (talk) 01:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How can the game be using DirectX 10.1, when the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 are only DirectX 9 capable? I wouldn't be surprised if the PC version had some DX10 touches, but I doubt this is based on anything other than speculation. I vote to delete this sentence. Jezcentral (talk) 13:32, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article is written like a news article, rather than an encyclopaedia entry. I recommend either rewriting it and adding sources (with special emphasis on the latter point) or simply deleting it in its entirety. --Or-whatever (talk) 12:59, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted the article back just redirecting to the Hitman series article. Eik Corell (talk) 10:18, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The game is suspose to come out within a few months, and comes from a very successful series. Let's get a real article going here. TheJoak (talk) 04:21, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did a massive edit of the article correcting the worst grammar and spelling mistakes. However, the article is still way under Wikipedia standards and will need a complete reworking. I personally believe the article should link to the Hitman (series) article until more information is available. Much of the information written is highly speculative. --Or-whatever (talk) 22:38, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

personal believes not related to the Wikipedia.! Avaloan (talk) 12:22, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to think that because you, apparently, wrote this article, no one else should be allowed to correct it or have opinions about it. As it is, none of the information available is very concrete, and the question is whether or not Hitman 5 is deserving of its own article or whether it should just have a mention on the series article. I see that you redid my entire clean up, and I'll attempt to be as civil about that as I can, but please do note that I'm not one to beat around the bush: There are several obvious grammatical errors in that text. I'm going to revert the text back to the corrected version and upon request or continued reverting without any kind of discussion, I will point every single on of them out to you. --Or-whatever (talk) 12:31, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't this article fall foul of WP:NOTCRYSTAL? I may be wrong, but the actual release does seem a long way off. Apau98 (talk) 11:43, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hitman V Cover Page

[edit]

Added an cover page for Hitman V ,I guess that would attract people to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Avaloan (talkcontribs) 13:47, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

possible references

[edit]

There's also one referencing Eidos's financial difficulties I'll try to dig up. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 00:56, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Both of those seem to be mostly speculation, I don't think they have any place in the article. With the title confirmed, the first teaser released earlier this week and E3 coming up I think it's safe to say we'll be getting some solid news very soon. --Pritoolmachine2806 (talk) 18:30, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Console order

[edit]

There has been like 4 changes in the order the consoles and OS in which the game is going to be released; thats something very useless to be editing back and forth, alphabetic order, period. Zidane tribal (talk) 04:07, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"World Premier Gameplay Trailer"

[edit]

I'm deleting the World Premier Gameplay Trailer section. It's totally unsourced, and basically just wording out what people could simply just go to YouTube and see for themselves. No point in it, it can be mentioned in the article as, I can admit it's worth noting, but this article doesn't need a section that just explains what trailer shows. • GunMetal Angel 12:06, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed completely - Folks, Gunmetal Angel is right. There's no point posting a whole load of unsourced content when you can actually see it for yourself. Abhijay Talk?/Deeds 12:36, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lock the article

[edit]

Maybe i am overreacting but, there appears to be at least one very angry fan, piss off at the cnages made to the game. Others will come. Zidane tribal (talk) 19:10, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm seconding the lock request. Rwalker (talk) 19:28, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why was the lock removed?????? Zidane tribal (talk) 08:57, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It expired. --Λeternus (talk) 08:59, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see. I think a longer lock should be put in place. The vandalism keeps piling on. Zidane tribal (talk) 09:19, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Would this explain why it's been placed in the "Casual" genre? Looking at just today's revisions, I would third the motion to locking this article. Hyblackeagle22 (talk) 02:00, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plot Cleanup

[edit]

"At least one portion of the game will be set in Chicago, but it has been confirmed that the rest of the game will take place within the US."

Unless something has changed in the last five minutes, I am pretty sure Chicago is still part of the United States. Maybe we should reword this as something like "Most of the game will take place in the United States, in locations such as Chicago."Rprince418 (talk) 00:06, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sniper challenge Gamestop

[edit]

The article currently says that in the US you can only get access to Sniper Challenge if you order from Gamestop. While I'm not in the US, I got my access by pre-ordering through Steam, which is also available in the US. Is the article currently wrong, or is the Steam pre-order location-limited? --Itsacon (talk) 10:48, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

that whole section looks poxy and out of place. i think it should be deleted.

Reason for change of voice actor?

[edit]

is there any reason the change of voice actor? the hitman series was iconicly praised for its voice actor. now he sounds like something out of a seinfeld character. any source that says why he was fire/quit or anything?

Game breaking bugs

[edit]

Why was this removed? Is it not important to inform people that they will pay for an expensive product that suffers from a game breaking bug?

This is embarrassing: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/943497-hitman-absolution/64694205 http://www.hitmanforum.com/index.php/topic/57128-crashfreeze-broken-save-360/ http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=130207

Differences?

[edit]

The article states in numerous places, including the lead and a lot of the reviews, that this game was different from other Hitman games and that a lot of people saw this as a bad thing. So what are the differences then? Maybe could be added into Dev or Gameplay? Nanonic (talk) 14:48, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Add More On Gameplay

[edit]

I'm going to expand on the gameplay section. You can use the environment to kill targets such as shutting them in a bomb chamber, rigging electric cables to water supply etc. This is the first entry in the game where 47 is able to hide from enemies in bins as well as storing unconscious bodies.Wyliecoyote1990 (talk) 22:25, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've never played this game or else I would add to the gameplay. It is poorly lacking as far as what 'gameplay' means. For instance, is the perspective 3rd person? I read on a forum that this game is a mixture of stealth and gunplay... does the gunplay all take place in 3rd person or does it have some 1st person? Is there 'platforming'. I think these are basic gameplay descriptions that should be in every game. Unfortunately, I don't know the answers so can't modify it myself. Hopefully someone will? Thanks! StefanijaSili (talk) 02:45, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A sequel section is in order.

[edit]

Add one. —DangerousJXD (talk) 05:21, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@DangerousJXD: Any suggested sources? Everything I've seen is pretty thin on details. — Strongjam (talk) 11:19, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not talking a full fledged sequel section, Strongjam. Just at least a mention of it. Fallout (series) mentions Fallout 4 and details on that are "thin" as well. I believe Fallout 3 used to have one as well (but I'm guessing it was moved to the series article). I have seen articles having mentions of a sequel when it is nothing but rumors (and will just stay rumors). —DangerousJXD (talk) 22:02, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@DangerousJXD: The Hitman (video game series) does have some information on the upcoming title. I think that's the best place for it, but I'm not opposed to a mention here if someone wants to add it. — Strongjam (talk) 00:55, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Open World?

[edit]

Would anyone consider this game to be open world? If so, could you please provide sources, and if not, please explain. ThanksDohvahkiin (talk) 18:44, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There isn't a mention of it being open world in the article so I don't know what you're referring to. The game isn't open world if that's what you're asking. There's a quote in the article saying so. The game walks players through a series of large levels in a straight line. It's not an actual open world game. —DangerousJXD (talk) 21:21, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for the help. I've heard it has largish levels, I just didn't know whether they're large enough or connected, considering I've never played the game before.Dohvahkiin (talk) 00:40, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Voice cast

[edit]

I see them listed at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2071475/fullcredits/ and was wondering if we should include them. Ranze (talk) 20:10, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No. Cast lists should be avoided (#11 WP:VGSCOPE) and IMDB is not a reliable source anyway. --The1337gamer (talk) 20:14, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline

[edit]

While the fact that the intro takes place 20 years prior is pretty well established, where does the idea that the game takes place 7 years after Absolution come from? Proof of this? The link given only mentions the timeline of the introductory part.85.229.56.227 (talk) 21:46, 14 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
