Hobbiton film setHobbiton Movie Set – This was the original location of the article. Rationale copied from a discussion at User talk:Spidey104 follows. "Re your move, I am not at all familiar with WP film protocols and I have attachment to movies vs films, but am I wrong in thinking that as the name of the visitor centre would appear to be "Hobbiton Movie Set", that this move should either be reversed, or amended to "Hobbiton movie set"? Ben MacDui 12:50, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If the location was in fact named "Hobbiton Movie Set" I believe that would be the correct name for the article, but based on this link the tour site is called "Hobbiton Tours" and they refer to it as "the Hobbiton movie set" but it is not named "Hobbiton Movie Set." It's a subtle difference, but for Wikipedia protocol it is important, because the Wikipedia standard is to call movies films. The Film WikiProject is the place to look for more information. If you disagree with my assessment of the situation I am more than willing to continue discussing it here. Cheers! Spidey104 21:43, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well the website is hobbitontours.com but just about the first thing on the home page is "Discover the real Middle-Earth at the Hobbiton™ Movie Set". I have a mini-guide book. Somewhat confusingly the front page says:
  • hobbiton movie set & farm tours
  • from the lord of the rings trilogy
  • Hobbiton Movie Set
The upper and lower cases above are per the document.Ben MacDui 18:38, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You do have a point with the information you just posted, but I'm not an expert on naming conventions. I would suggest starting a move discussion on the talk page so other editors can post their opinions and come to a consensus that is in line with the naming conventions. Comment. I am intrigued to know your logic as most of the sources call it "Hobbiton Movie Set", or "Hobbiton Movie Set Tours" or similar and I don't see any referring to "Hobbiton film set". Ben MacDui 08:31, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with what Spidey104 said in his first posting above regarding film vs. movie and upper and lower cases. - Gothicfilm (talk) 22:40, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom and for procedural reasons (per WP:RMUM to undo an undiscussed move of only a few weeks ago). I assumed I would oppose a move until I read the following on the webpage of the attraction (with my emphasis):

Discover the real Middle-Earth at the Hobbiton™ Movie Set near Matamata in the North Island of New Zealand.

On the most picturesque private farmland you can visit the Hobbiton Movie Set from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies in a fascinating two-hour guided tour.

Two instances of caps in two paragraphs along with "© 2012 Hobbiton Movie Set Tours, all rights reserved" at the bottom of the web page are quite convincing. I encourage User:Gothicfilm and User:Spidey104 to review this in light of opposition to a move based on the name not being capitalised. —  AjaxSmack  14:41, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Your link doesn't seem to work, but http://www.hobbitontours.com/ does. It isn't as official looking as it could be, but I'll withdraw my Oppose vote. Note there's also a Facebook page which uses the name in a more consistent official-looking manner. - Gothicfilm (talk) 15:17, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I corrected the link.  AjaxSmack  16:33, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Support: AjaxSmack, you should review my previous "posts" which were copied from my talk page. I did originally move the page based on Wikipedia naming policies, but when Ben MacDui pointed out that website to me I realized I may have made a mistake and I suggested he start this move discussion. Spidey104 13:53, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if I sounded like I didn't AGF. I did and noted that I, too, would have opposed the move except for the copious usage of caps.  AjaxSmack  15:53, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
