the number of non-disco songs to penetrate the upper charts[edit]

the source article may list 5 songs but the bellamy brothers' song is actually disco too - as disco as 'rock the boat' and 'rock your baby', two songs supposed to be the pioneering disco tunes. so we this word (number) can be changed to 'four', especially given the article doesn't uses a number - only a list. Acoustic guitars[edit]

For that matter there are acoustic guitars on "Baby What a Big Surprise" and I suspect I'll hear more the longer I listen to the records I have on hand. Maybe I just don't understand what the editor meant by "featuring acoustic guitars?" Chicago with EWF version[edit]

Chicago's been doing some tours recently with Earth, Wind and Fire, and one of the EWF members has been singing the song in the kind of high tenor voice that just makes you go "Oooooh, that's powerful." I believe the same EWF guy (whose name I don't know) even performed the song on a recent Chicago album. Should someone with a better knowledge of this subject add this information to the article? Does anyone think it's information worthy of being put into the article? Any other thoughts? ekedolphin 04:26, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Terry Kath playing it live[edit]

Meaning of song[edit]

I remember seeing the song's video on MTV's Pop-up Video, where it was described as a plea by Cetera for reconciliation with his wife at the time, who nevertheless went ahead and divorced him. Can anybody verify this? RobertGustafson (talk) 08:18, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

This page used to have a fascinating discussion of how this song represented a new direction for Chicago, away from the horn based music towards more sentimental ballads. The song was a turning point in the band's history and everyone in the band had a different reaction to the song.

Chess Version[edit]

Why does the Chess version deserve its own section in the article, instead of being included in "Other Cover Versions"? Also, there are no citations given for most of the information in that section. The section looks mostly like the opinion of the writer, which I would classify as "original research" which is not allowed by Wikipedia per ""Wikipedia:No original research" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:No_original_research Curious405 (talk) 02:51, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Other versions[edit]

It's not on the SecondHandSongs website, but I once heard this version in a club, love the chorus arrangements and never forgot about it. Looked for it for 19 (!) years and finally found it.
