In Your House

[edit]

In what way is this similar to In Your House? Wikipedia is an encylopedia, not a fan site. Things can exist on their own terms without using WWE as a point of reference, especially when it's unexplained or tangential. Tony2Times (talk) 03:15, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think thats similar because One Night Only is a series of monthly ppvs, like IYH, but taped.--HHH Pedrigree (talk) 15:39, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Each individual PPV.

[edit]

Are we going to end up making pages for each of the one night only PPV's? or just leave it like that? --Kevmicester2000 (talk) 01:02, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

TNA mentioned the X-Travaganza on iMpact, but didnt really build to it. Who knows what they'll do with the others. If they deserve a page via storylines like the other PPVs, give them one. If not, dont. I'd assume if TNA keeps this same format; all Knockdown, all X-Travaganza, should be given their own collective page.

Also, maybe put X-TRavaganza, 2013World Cup, & Hardcore Justice2013 in with their regular pages. 24.24.231.104 (talk) 22:57, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Responsibilities

Wikitable vs. {{Pro wrestling results table}}?

[edit]

Any reason why, after 2014, Wikitable is used for results instead of the much easier Template:Pro wrestling results table? I might convert the post-2014 wikitables to results tables in my free time. JTP (talkcontribs) 02:47, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Page split

[edit]

This page is current way over the limits from WP:SPLIT and really should be split because edits are very slow. As the days go on its only going to get worse and worse. My suggestion would be to convert this into a by year page. On this page we leave the lead and as we get to the years we create a chart instead. If there are no objections I will do the work hopefully later in the week. - GalatzTalk 15:00, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So would the results would be split into individual pages, or be removed entirely, à la List of ICW events? JTP (talkcontribs) 15:37, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The individually years would be more like Halloween Havoc, but rather than each year's events, it will be Impact One Night Only (2013) and then it will have all the results from 2013. This page would become more like List of ICW events and would then link to the results on the individual year pages. - GalatzTalk 15:41, 19 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Move page Impact One Night Only to already existing redirected page TNA One Night Only 16 January 2024

[edit]

Move page Impact One Night Only to already existing redirected page TNA One Night Only due to the name of the company Impact Wrestling being reverted back to TNA Wrestling aka Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). 2600:1004:B238:50C3:0:C:8CA3:3101 (talk) 17:12, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Impact One Night OnlyTNA One Night Only – Impact Wrestling has reverted back to the name Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Fixer88 (talk) 17:50, 17 February 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Bensci54 (talk) 17:47, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: These events were in the past. Is "Impact" the name most of them used at the time? We should be careful about going back and retroactively changing the names of events in the past. — BarrelProof (talk) 00:54, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It was known as "TNA One Night Only" for four years, and "Impact One Night Only" for three. A decent case could be made to move to either name, but I agree the 2024 rename of Impact Wrestling is irrelevant in deciding which. * Pppery * it has begun... 05:52, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment The rash of recent Impact —> TNA moves were based on the rationale that our article titles should mirror the subject's marketing strategy at any given moment. This goes completely contrary to policy, which was ignored in the discussion. Gaming local consensus to contravene policy is a terrible look for the project. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 22:29, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are there any moves in particular that concern you? I do see some discussion of "common name" versus "official name" in the RM, RMTR and MR discussions of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, although I agree that most of the comments were about the official name. My impression is that the "Impact" name may not have been especially popular, so some people were calling it TNA even when it was officially Impact, and when the official name changed back, there wasn't much resistance to dropping "Impact". I could be wrong though. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:36, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct. Indeed, that people never stopped calling the company TNA accounting to their own research was one of the reasons cited for reverting to that name. (The other major one being the decade and a half of shows in the archive with the TNA name.) As for the idea that updating the names to somehow goes against policy, that's wrong, as WP:NAMECHANGES is policy, based on the fact that readers are more likely going to look for the current name than any last name.
As for the proposed move, it could go either way, because this isn't an article about a single event. We wouldn't rename a single PPV/monthly special that was held under the Impact name for that given year (though I can't think of any that need it), but the overall article for an annual event with the same name every year that's still ongoing should probably use the current name. This one, however, is for a historical series of pretaped PPVs where both names were used for almost equal periods of time. So I'm going to defer my !vote. oknazevad (talk) 01:10, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
