Having reviewed MOS:INITIALS, this page's title should be changed from J. B. Shuck to JB Shuck. This case satisfies both criteria necessary to overcome Wikipedia's default naming convention for initialized names such as this one.

  • the person demonstrably has a different, consistently preferred style for his or her own name; and
    • Per 2019 MLB player name presentation preferences[1], Shuck's name is explicitly meant to be presented as JB Shuck with no periods in JB. This contrasts with, for example, J.B. Wendleken, whose name presentation is on the page following Shuck's, and specifies that periods should be used when presenting Wendleken's name.
  • an overwhelming majority of reliable sources use that variant style for that person
    • Google search for “J. B. Shuck” returns the following websites and the following naming styles for a simple survey of how other media organizations are presenting Shuck's name:
MLB.com JB Shuck
Baseball Reference JB Shuck
MiLB.com JB Shuck
Rotoworld J.B. Shuck
ESPN.com JB Shuck
Fangraphs JB Shuck

All official and most other major sources use JB Shuck as suggested by the MLB name preference guide. Since this is a low-importance page and I believe the argument for moving the page is overwhelming, so I am going to go ahead and move the page at this time.
