New article[edit]

Additional content and sources welcomed. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 02:28, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright issue?[edit]

@Diannaa: The information referenced from the Saint Peter's website has not been copied verbatim, though there is a couple of occurrences of close paraphrasing, which I will tend to. Bearing in mind, almost all sources, books, newspapers, etc, are copyrighted, but are used as sources so long as there's no lengthy close paraphrasing or actual copying of the text. Will work on the article in my sand box and get back to you. Any specific advice would also be helpful.-- Gwillhickers (talk) 21:10, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote a reply already about half an hour ago but it looks like it never got saved. Here is a link to the copyvio report. You need to re-work the unique phraseology such as "placed under the care of a Dr. Gardiner, who conducted an English academy"; "afflicted with a disease of the eyelids. When British troops under General Howe occupied the Philadelphia, Dr. Grant, his surgeon General, undertook the cure by applying lunar caustic"; "After the British evacuated, Dr. Bond was able to accomplish a complete cure"; "he asked Bishop White to ordain him, and after examination, he was ordained a deacon at St. Peter's and a priest on Dec. 28, 1794". There's more. You shouldn't work in a sandbox (it will only make the cleanup more complicated afterwards); you should work in a temporary page as suggested in the template I placed on your talk page, or you can perform the amendments here in article space. Please let me know when you think it's ready — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:50, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing fixed[edit]

@Diannaa: My apologies for the close paraphrasing. I have already tended to this in my sand box. Will move everything to the temp page if you're insisting. Please let me know if there are any more issues as I would like to continue with the James Abercrombie (Episcopal Priest) article. Meanwhile I am in the process of procuring other sources so as not to rely on the Saint Peter's Church source anymore than is necessary. Thanks for looking out. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 21:55, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have done some further copyright cleanup and also some copy edits and added a few wikilinks. Thank you for your cooperation in getting this issue cleaned up. Regards, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:22, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
