Untitled[edit]

Hi, Jamie Livingston's name doesn't have an e at the end of Livingston. I probably misspelled it in an email to someone last night. Correcting that would entail changing the URL of this page, which is beyond my skills

Requested move[edit]

This page needs to be moved to Jamie Livingston. This page already exists because in my infinite stupidity I created the page and cut-pasted the text of this one to that one (oops). If an admin could assist, that would be great. -Thanks --Bennettjm (talk) 18:29, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion[edit]

I don't see why this is non-notable enough for deletion. It is notable, and the article demonstrates the notability with:

A well-known unique art project in the Polaroid-A-Day, and contribution to modern art.
Internet presence - see many google search results.
His link with Bard College.

If anyone wants to make some of this clearer in the article, feel free - I'm not that experienced. I also don't have the time to fully contest this, but, I don't think this is entirely non-notable at all. -Kez (talk) 13:23, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Erolos. Please see WP:Notability for guidelines on inclusion on Wikipedia. Basically, the subject needs "significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject." If the subject has received said coverage, please include it in the article, either as a source for information in the body, or as an external link. I declined the speedy, this is not a A7, "an article about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant. This is distinct from questions of verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability; to avoid speedy deletion an article does not have to prove that its subject is notable, just give a reasonable indication of why it might be notable..." Died of cancer?[edit]

I am wondering if we have any confirmation that Livingston died of cancer? The author at Mental Floss seems to think he did, but I don't see anything in that article's text or pictures that would definitely point to that. Mental Floss points to his baldness and apparent medical difficulty as evidence that he is undergoing chemotherapy, but Livingston has a full beard, which would seem to rule out chemotherapy since it ought to affect all hair follicles, not just those on the top of one's head. I'm no doctor (yet) but perhaps we ought to change the wording in the article to say "Mental Floss reports that he died of cancer," instead of just saying he did.
