Unfortunate[edit]

If the person who altered the text of this entry on December 3 had used his mind a little bit more carefully, he could have altered it so that such useful information he has could be integrated into it positively. The changes he has made are unacceptable and will be removed, and rightly so, if I know anything about Wikipedia. Unfortunately, this will also provide an opening to Indianists to hijack this page and convert it into yet another bit of Indianist propaganda, so that this last editor's changes will end up counter-productive!

I have removed the word 'secularist' as a qualifier for JKLF until further citation.I haveent come across their official version stating them as secularist, how can they when they were the first ones who started ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri pandits.

Secular Atheist.

Rubbiya saeed Kidnapping[edit]

I am composing a section on past armed activities of JKLF, starting with the 1989 Kidnapping of Dr. Rubaiya Sayeed and demanded the release of JKLF fights. Editors currently taking interest in Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front please help :) Nshuks7 (talk) 12:42, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While I was gathering material, it dawned that JKLF has had perhaps the biggest role in fomenting an armed struggle in J&K than any of the organizations presently do. I propose sections on (1) origins, (2) the violent phase lasting until 1996, (3) the split (present in the current edition) and (4) summary of activities in 1996-present period. These can various contain people, events and external interventions/recognitions. Nshuks7 (talk) 13:57, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please change "Azad Kashmir" to "Pakistan Occupied Kashmir" because the so called Azad Kashmir is an occupied area. Gauravdn (talk) 14:35, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Azad Kashmir is the accepted name of the area and it's Wikipedia article. -- ferret (talk) 00:17, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Many examples in this article do not comply with Wikipedia standards of:

Verifiability Neutral Point of View or Original Research

There is a pro-India political bias implicit in this article.

Examples: This statement is not supported by the references present: "From then until 1994 it was an active terrorist organization"- please provide accurate references stating that from 1977 to 1994 this was such an organization.

This statement is not supported by the references present: "its stated objective was to liberate Jammu and Kashmir from India and reunite it with Pakistan as an independent state"- this assertion is erroneously linked to the references of the previous sentence- those references do not support this assertion.

In order to be neutral it would be advisable to seek objective sources for your statements. This is an accurate and independent source: Kashmir in Conflict: India, Pakistan and the Unending War Paperback – 27 Apr 2010 - Victoria Schofield

You are inaccurate and have basically cherry picked sources that support your world view, you must comply with Wikipedia standards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Futuremind123 (talkcontribs) 15:17, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front is a globally recongnised freedom, struggling, policitical organisation working towards a free and indepedent Kashmir. The Kashmir issue is internationally recongnise and still in United Nation Agenda. The issue of Kashmir is for the future of approx 20 millions of people and 84,784 mile squared. It is not a land dispute between 2 countries. Unfortuantely on Wikipedia's website its introduction as a 'terrorist organsation' is not only unfair statement but its also undermines our struggles for a just peaceful and prosperous South Asia I Request you to edit the about the stated unfair introduction permanently by replacing the sentence of a 'terroist organisation' to a 'world recognised struggling polictcal organisation.

Many Thanks With Best Regards Mushtaq Malik Senior Vice President Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front UK ZONE Email Address: mmalikjklf@yahoo.com 2A02:C7D:3B50:4600:A455:FED4:364E:19B0 (talk) 18:39, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for raising the issue. Please note that the terrorist activity up to 1994 is supported by reliable sources as per Wikipedia policy. I have added a paragraph stating that the JKLF in Indian-administered Kashmir renounced violence in 1994. (The article body still needs to be corrected, but you can see the Yasin Malik page for the kind of information I will add.) I don't have any information about the UK branch of JKLF. If you provide reliable sources (newspaper or scholarly sources) discussing it, I will be happy to look at them. - Kautilya3 (talk) 19:17, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Naqash.sakhawat: I will add a link. But please note that the target page is in really poor shape. You need to add full citations, get rid of Facebook etc., and make it WP:NPOV. Please send enough time doing that, instead of adding links everywhere. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 17:37, 12 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Related to Shabir Choudhry[edit]

Where should Shabir Choudhry be mentioned in this article? Should he be mentioned in the article?
Noted the undo change made by User:Kautilya3 that "founder" and "founding member" are different which is a valid point which I overlooked.

Note references and sources also mentioned in the article -
Indian Express Article - http://indianexpress.com/article/world/world-news/pok-leader-shabir-choudhry-quits-kashmir-national-party-4376959

PoK leader Shabir Choudhry has resigned from the Kashmir National Party asserting that he would not surrender to “the ISI and their stooges”. UK-based Choudhry started his struggle for united and independent Jammu and Kashmir in 1973 and helped to form the Kashmir Youth Movement. Later on he helped to form Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in 1977; and served as its secretary general and president.
DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 22:34, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not every office holder of an organisation need be mentioned on the organisation's page. If Shabir Choudhry has made an impact on the JKLF, his name would naturally show up in the narrative. If he didn't, it wouldn't. I don't see why we have to go out of way to incorporate him. In my opinion, Shabir Choudhry stands very much on his own, and is notable in his own right, irrespective of the JKLF. I don't see a problem. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 23:28, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. That makes sense @Kautilya3:. No problem then, he doesn't need to be included. DiplomatTesterMan (talk) 08:36, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The claim that Farooq Siddiqi is a "hard liner" is not sourced and in not factual. The link after the sentence which speaks to EU is also broken, and needs to be updated. Recroad (talk) 18:22, 24 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removed "hard liner". Broken links can be updated and you can read this for the rest. ML talk 07:25, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Lead[edit]

the lead of the page says "The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) is a banned organisation" and in the end of the lead again writes "JKLF was banned by Indian government under anti-terror law in March 2019.". Isn't this repeating the same thing twice and also, until yesterday it was a "political organisation" and suddenly its a "banned organisation". Shouldnt the lead say something along the lines of "JKLF is a political organisation which was recently banned by the Indian Government (insert citation)". Mhveinvp (talk) 18:56, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removed "banned" from the very first sentence. Other editor sourced the statement in the end of the lead. ML talk 07:25, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. The article now looks much more presentable than before. Mhveinvp (talk) 11:07, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Change "Use Commonwealth English" to "EngvarB" per tfd outcome Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion#To_convert, and probably best not use either Indian or Pakistani English specifically as choosing one or the other could be inflammatory. 81.2.252.231 (talk) 03:16, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Update the website link for JKLF to "www.jklf.net" instead of "www.jklfuk.org". The second link is for the UK branch and the link is also not working.

farooq Siddiqui has never been chairman of JKLF. Yasin Malik is the current chairman of the Party. Please rectify. Thanks. 77.98.23.253 (talk) 19:37, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
