Alleged literary fraud[edit]

According to this New York Times article, Joan Lowell's childhood at sea was a fabrication: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/08/books/08fakes.html

And here's a quote from Amazon.com: "In the book Daily Life in the United States, 1920-1940, by David Kyvig it is stated that this book was the March 1929 selection of the Book of the Month Club and that after its selection it was determined that it was "a literary hoax." 76.121.179.92 (talk) 06:26, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I revised the article and explained the sea story is a hoax, with a reference from the Los Angeles Times. It still could use some more work. Ecphora (talk) 02:05, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
