Three things[edit]

  • Re: the most recent edit by McPhail – the edit repeats the mention of Maple Valley found in the article body, with the same source. However, that source does not mention Maple Valley. When I did research on Valentine (decades?) ago, one item referred to him as actually hailing from Renton. Given the relative proximity of the two places, it's quite possible that he lived in both places, since the 1930s and 1940s saw a wave of migration within the United States from rural to urban areas.
    • On a similar note: while his Seattle-area roots can be established, I'm not so sure whether his (as well as his son's) Seattle billing is semi-kayfabe versus an actual association. I would believe that a promoter or booker likely told him "Just say you're from Seattle, no one's heard of the other place".
  • To me, the plane crash has a lot more to do with his wrestling career than his personal life. Coming so soon after the plane crash which killed Bobby Shane, it suggests a pattern. That pattern relates to the business, in that business was really taking off around that time and the boys were trying to cover a lot more ground than driving would allow. Orphaned references in Johnny Valentine[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Johnny Valentine's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "cagematch":

  • From Matt Riddle: "Matt Riddle". CageMatch.
  • From Baron Corbin: "Baron Corbin". CageMatch. Retrieved December 12, 2014.
  • From Tommy Rich: "Tommy Rich - Cagematch Profile". CAGEMATCH. Retrieved December 24, 2018.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 23:50, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
