Proposal to rework[edit]

I'd be glad to work on her Wikipedia article if only it would not get deleted; thanks for preserving this copy. KingAlanI (talk) 09:35, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was looking recently at the citations and I think there's probably enough sourcing to support this article. Depending on what's dredged up I would think there's a much better chance of being sustained. Ronnotel (talk) 14:08, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent; I'll expand upon the version you posted shortly - I hope. :) Working on it in a word processor first (as I often do with my online posts); should I just copy/paste it into K.Flay when I have a draft done? KingAlanI (talk) 22:21, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just posted it to K.Flay. KingAlanI (talk) 05:19, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, what do you think about it being targeted for speedy deletion? I'm confident it's a notable subject, but I'm not sure how to phrase a rationale succinctly.KingAlanI (talk) 05:26, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Will re-do this eventually - hopefully. :) KingAlanI (talk) 00:58, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There's WP:NODEADLINE. Peace. Ronnotel (talk) 18:07, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Track Listing / Album Detail Section[edit]

K.Flay's albums probably don't meet the notability guidelines to be their own articles, and so I propose that we add a new section for track listings and album details on the main page. Comments? Zanfar (talk) 17:31, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not so sure about that. Just work up an article and see if we can defend it. I think today's debut is smashing and will get needed notoriety this month in Pitchforks and other spoons... --Mareklug talk 00:47, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Why isn't this at K.Flay without a space, to look like the album cover?"[edit]

Just to pre-emptively head off the otherwise inevitable requested move: See MOS:TM and WP:COMMONNAME. Wikipedia does not mimic logo stylizations, including those that play around with letter spacing, character substitutions, case changes, etc. An exception can be made in the rare case that the mainstream press (i.e. reliable sources, written like Wikipedia for a general audience) very consistently prefer the stylized variant. Some examples are iPhone and Deadmau5, which virtually no one ever writes as "IPhone" (except at the beginning of a sentence) or "Iphone", or as "Deadmaus", respectively.

K. Flay does not rise to that level of consistent treatment, as can be verified in seconds with a Google News search [1]. Major newspapers clearly prefer the space, while music fandom bloggers prefer to imitate the logo. Local newspapers, which are of only middling reliability quality and low editorial control, are divided. Music-industry publications tend to imitate the logo, but they are not independent sources on a matter like this; the vast majority of their revenue comes from record label advertising, so they have direct monetary incentive to do what the industry marketers want (you'll also see this in other ways, e.g. their imitation of substandard capitalization practices to match album and single cover art, and, back in the day, many also replaced Prince's name with the made-up symbol he was using for a while).  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  23:32, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

FAN POV?[edit]

This article states it seems to be written from a fans POV. It has been completely rewritten to try to change the tone. Can you offer suggestions on what sounds "Fan written" or on how we can improve it to give it a more "encyclopedia tone"? EmvCS (talk) 17:03, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
