Þjarkur, I agree with your point here - 'The Ghanaian Ambassador of X' gives the impression of being a governmental role. I'd be reluctant to say that 'she describes herself as being the Ghanaian Ambassador of...' without a reliable source (of which there are none so far in this article), so I'm going to remove that assertion entirely.
