Untitled[edit]

I am doing an investigation into the Koskella surname in Finnish texts. Can someone add a link to a more detailed description of the caste/class divide in Finnish literature? I think this should exist but I cannot find one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomfoo (talkcontribs) 15:17, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The right spelling of the name is "Koskela". "Koskella" is not a surname. Characters with the surname "Koskela" appear in the novels of Väinö Linna and have become symbols of a finnish man in general. This however differs from the present contents of this article which actually has nothing to do with these facts. --Urjanhai (talk) 19:07, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As well as in the finnish language reference about Jaakko Syrjä there is nothing about the surname Koskela. Urjanhai (talk) 07:36, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And see also below (I totally agree with the comments below). --Urjanhai (talk) 07:42, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hoax?[edit]

Reasons for suspicion:

  • Of precisely four edits by the article's creator and sole editor, two relate to this page, and one of the other two was the insertion of what appears to have been hoax-type vandalism into another article.
  • Zero references; the "reference" link provided does not lead to anything remotely related to Finnish names.
  • If a book called "The Forgotten Town" by Jaako Syrjä exists, then Google has not heard of it - the only result for a search for such a book is this article.
  • If "Koskella" is used as a pseudonym in Finnish literature, then nobody has said so before on any English-language page that Google indexes.

And so on. Basically, a total failure of WP:V combined with a number of extraordinary and unlikely-sounding claims and a "reference" that bears no relation whatsoever to the article contents make it reasonable, I think, to label this a likely hoax. — Haeleth Talk 22:16, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The comment above was "cleaned up" (i. e. removed) in two parts in december 2006 and january 2007. As this was cleary vandalism, I undid the removal now when I noticed it.-- Urjanhai (talk) 18:33, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed[edit]

I moved the article into the name Koskela (disambiguation). Now it should be ok.-- Urjanhai (talk) 19:21, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
