In fiction[edit]

The locomotive[edit]

According to The Origin of James the Red Engine, it is said the Class 28 is the rebuild of the Class 27, designed by George Hughes, due to the addition of a Belpaire firebox and the extension of the footplate.

James' Changes[edit]

In The Island of Sodor: Its People, History and Railways, the changes made to James from a real Class 28 that I put on this article are stated as canon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Megasquid500 (talkcontribs) 01:19, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

James the Red Engine updated[edit]

I have updated the James the Red Engine article with the available information about the prototype. At present I have put the barest minimum here, complete with references. More is available at James's article. -- EdJogg (talk) 00:31, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
