In the {{For}}, add "Gay pride flag redirects here. For the flag for gay men, see Gay men's flags". Skemous (talk) 17:11, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. Thanks for your contributions! Myrealnamm-alt (talk) 17:59, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Layout issue[edit]

There's something with with the layout of this page that I can't figure out. The thumbnail of the progress flag is under the "Notable flag creations" section header, which doesn't seem like the right place to put it. However, in the source, it is just above the paragraph about Daniel Quasar, which seems like the correct place it should be. Why is it appearing in the wrong place? I'm not having that same issue, but I did make some tweaks to try to have the images display better. Wracking talk! 00:50, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Change "Rainbow Flag" To just LGBT Flag. Rainbows have 7 colors, not 6 colors. It is simply incorrect to call it a rainbow flag. 174.119.49.127 (talk) 02:34, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: page move requests should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves. '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talkcontribs) 02:41, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Use “rainbow” is incorrect[edit]

A true rainbow spectrum has seven (7) colors: Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet. The Pride flag has only six.

Suggest removal of the term “rainbow” throughout. 47.134.194.101 (talk) 14:17, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - per WP:COMMONNAME, the flag is called the rainbow flag around the world. Raladic (talk) 14:25, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is wrong on two levels. A "rainbow" is a smooth gradient of colors. Look at a real rainbow in the sky - it has no bands. Secondly, "indigo" isn't a color, and was mostly invented by Newton because he was obsessed with the number 7. David G (talk) 08:11, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
None of this matters, because we don't take an unnaturally narrow view of what these words mean. Remsense 08:13, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, can someone please remove the unnecessary police presence under the History section? There’s an arbitrary photo of a cop with a pride flag on cheek, with no particular reference to anything. That photo could be replaced with something more appropriate, such as a photo of Gilbert carrying the original flag, or a pride flag being hung outside of a queer bar or club.

Police have historically oppressed queer, gay, and trans people. Police represent and uphold bigotry, incarcerate queer people, and still kill queer people in places where homosexuality is illegal. Police do not deserve to be on this page, unless under a section about police oppression.

Thank you so much. Happy Pride. 2601:602:9700:A30:253E:6BF3:70B8:48A5 (talk) 05:04, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

And isn't it wonderful, with thanks to the brave and proud who've fought the fight, that a police officer at a pride event is now seen displaying the adopted symbol of pride themselves? Quite a revealing image. Fred Gandt · talk · contribs 11:44, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The brave and proud who have always fought the fight and continue to do so are the gays, the queers, and the trans folk, specifically trans women. 2601:602:9700:A30:382F:DCCF:64C6:EE6F (talk) 17:45, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The police continue to oppress the aforementioned communities. 2601:602:9700:A30:382F:DCCF:64C6:EE6F (talk) 17:48, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Done with no view taken on whether the image is deserving or revealing, there's simply nothing in the text about UK police adoption of the flag, and no context for whether this example is a commonplace or unusual one. --Belbury (talk) 12:01, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
