There's a historical fault in this article: This slogan was in fact not brought up by Zapata, but by the anarchist Enrique Flores Magón and his brothers, founders of the "liberal party" PLM (Partido Liberal de Mexico), which was in fact an anarchist group... Zapatat had the slogan probably from the in those days popular PLM newspaper "La regeneración" (130.92.9.57 (talk) 14:29, 11 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Thanks for the comment! Do you have a reference (such as a book or scholarly article) to support the claim that the slogan was brought up by the Flores Magón brothers?  Skomorokh  14:52, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect target

[edit]

Ok, @I dream of horses, I'm really not inclined to get into an edit war over this, but ¡Tierra y Libertad! is not the only slogan on that dab page, so your re-redirect reason doesn't stand. (And it's also a redirect to another redirect!) Tagging @CZAR in for discussion too, as the original redirect creator. I'm not jazzed about redirecting something to a dab page either, but redirecting to the Spanish slogan in particular doesn't make any sense - if it can be usefully redirected to the Spanish slogan, then nothing should be linking to this article at all, and they should just link to the Spanish slogan directly. I got here in the first place because I couldn't figure out why the article on Nestor Makhno was linking to the Mexican Liberal Party. There are articles that could plausibly link to this article title that are about people who died and events that ended before that party even began. I haven't been linking them to this article because, well, I'm with czar here - this article wasn't a terribly useful place to end up. Honestly, I think the best move here would be to simply delete this page entirely, and rename the dab page Land and liberty (disambiguation) so the bot doesn't get so mad about linking directly to it. Anything that's actually about ¡Tierra y Libertad! specifically as a Spanish slogan should be aimed at that page, Zemlya i volya at that one, and ambiguous/other ones to the dab page. -- asilvering (talk) 21:24, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Asilvering The first sentence convinced me to self revert. Smiley Sorry! I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 21:38, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Czar The glossary redirect is a much better solution than my proposed one! -- asilvering (talk) 22:33, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
