Claim that they originated the practice of chartering ships as "floating hotels" during events

I'm not convinced this is an accurate claim. For instance, in the 1980s Anchorage, Alaska's unsuccessful bid for the 1992 Winter Olympics intended to supplement their hotel stock by chartering a number of cruise ships to house media and visitors during the game.

Perhaps Landry & Kling were pioneers when it came to companies utilizing this as a business-model, but I am not convinced it is entirely accurate tat they originated the practice itself.
