I edited some of Larry's info, such as his children's ages, as they were 9 years out of date. Also updated his company info and added new info to bring the page up to date. I am in touch with Larry and the quotes I added came directly from him. I can substantiate the ones that others added as well but I don't know how to set up a references section. Thanks Sue! However, you should read a little bit on our core policies on Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:No original research. Wikipedia is meant to be a tertiary source, meaning it only summarizes knowledge already published, it doesn't try to do original reporting. I'm glad that you can talk to Mr. Wilcox directly in order to correct any errors in our article, but quotes from an unpublished personal or telephone interview should not be included here. Anything you or Mr. Wilcox want included in the article should be published elsewhere first -- in interviews or biographies on his official website, or a newspaper or magazine, or in his IMDb biography, for example. I hope that helps; you obviously are editing with the best of intentions, and I'd like to help create an article both Wikipedia and Mr. Wilcox will be happy with.
Once you have the references you need, I'll be help you add footnotes to the article. Thanks! — Catherine\talk
I don't understand something. If wikipedia information has to first be published somewhere else, doesn't that leave the person who uses this previously published information in an article here open for charges of plagarism by "stealing/using" somebody else's information? Just curious. Kenny HaarFager (talk) 01:32, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Land speed record?

[edit]

The article's opening paragraph says that Wilcox is a "Bonneville Salt Flats Land Speed Record holder," but the rest of the article doesn't mention that at all. Can this be verified? Is there any further information (what exact record he held, when he held it, where he set it, etc.)? His name is not mentioned in the Wikipedia article for "land speed record." 74.71.76.34 (talk) 08:28, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
