Lee L. McKinleyLee McKinley – McKinley may have appeared on election ballots as "Lee L. McKinley", but there's no indication otherwise that he was commonly known by this name. The middle initial in the article title amounts to unnecessary disambiguation. RadioKAOS  – Talk to me, Billy 21:15, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Contested PROD

[edit]

McKinley was elected to the territorial legislature, so this PROD would be invalid on the basis that he is strictly an unelected candidate. I've not received clear understanding (and I have asked) about the perception of notability of territorial legislators. Past discussion I've taken part in would indicate that state legislators are automatically notable. Here in Alaska, we don't regard territorial legislators as less important than state legislators simply because it was the territorial and not state legislature we're talking about. It does appear that more than one of the articles found in Category:Members of the Alaska Territorial Legislature exists for no reason other than the person served in the territorial legislature.
