Sources[edit]

One crucial source is buried in the External Links, the SABR biography "Lip Pike" by Robert H. Schaefer. The SABR biography of his brother, "Jay Pike" by Peter Morris should also be consulted by the next improver.

Second sentence trails off[edit]

"He was the first player to be revealed as a professional (meaning he was paid money to play), as well as the first Jewish"

I assume some noun should follow, but I don't know what it would be. Certainly not just "player", since I'm sure some Jew played ball before him, if only on a sandlot. If he was the first professional, it would be redundant to say he was the first Jewish professional. - Jmabel | Talk 04:35, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
