Linking to transliterated place names[edit]

There is a known situation of lack of standardization among transliterated English-language variants of Hebrew and Arabic Israeli place names (a chronic problem not to be discussed here...). It's a good practice, while a page is in Show preview mode or in subsequent editing, to click on each link and ensure that it goes to the proper page. You may need to write a piped link or even disambiguate. (I've done this here with Mughar, for example, if by "מרר" the site means מע'אר/מגאר). For good tips on transliteration, check the place name in the Hebrew Wikipedia and use their Latin letter spelling, if any. -- Hope this helps, Deborahjay 15:24, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I did so with the most of the Hebrew names but alot of them didn't have a place name in the Hebrew Wikipedia so I had trouble translating and I did it by checking my English translations in google and seeing how many results it found. Thanks for fixing all these translationg mistakes.

Advice about comparative number of hits in Google searches: it's recommended never to rely on the raw number of sites, but rather to select the most reputable among them, e.g. governmental (municipal or national-level) or academic ones. Even so, variances abound; sometimes it's desirable to include an alternate spelling in parentheses for "redlinks" (i.e. names for which no Wikipedia article exists). -- Deborahjay 08:12, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The list is not good[edit]

The source was "List of Mofet schools participating in the Atidim program" so in the list there are only the schools that participate in "Atidim" program, not all of the schools of Mofet are there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 217.132.236.31 (talk) 13:18, 5 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

That's why it's labeled "incomplete". There is no official list of Mofet schools, but a large portion of them participate in the program. Michaelas10 (Talk) 13:31, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
