Wii Points

I think it would be good to state how many Wii points each game costs. Maybe we could add another column? Jan Panda (talk) 15:08, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I agree but what about how wii points differ in each country. Also adding a list of wii points would be a big job. Nintendofootball (talk) 15:12, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Table Change

This table should have some sort of Release date section, I would suggest using either the Wifi play or Wii Conect 24 and combining them into a column titled Online.

So baicly the table would have seven collumns sections: Name, Developer, Publisher, Cost, Online, Mii, Release date. 130.13.255.188 23:29, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

The problem with adding a release date column is that each region has a different release date. We definitely shouldn't combine WiiConnect24 and the Wi-Fi Connection as they are distinctly different. -Zomic13 01:27, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
I've added columns for the three major release locations. This copies the way it's done on List of Wii games. --Pete Wall 18:50, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

The date-sorting doesn't work correctly for North America. Can someone fix it? (I don't know how.) Thanks. Sxp151 (talk) 17:49, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

What exactly is wrong with it? It appears to be fine right now, but point out what you believe is wrong and I'll get to it if possible. -- Comandante {Talk} 17:55, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Source column

Do the sources really need their own column? They could be put at the end of the title or somewhere else. With the addition of the release date columns, we'll need valuable screen space. --Pete Wall 18:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Current "WiiWare"

Should things like the Internet Channel and the Everybody Votes Channel be added? They're technically under WiiWare. The T 20:43, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

They aren't games though, so they are covered at Wii Menu. -Zomic13 23:24, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Ahahaha! Yes, that's true... ^^;;; The T 03:05, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

We need a article about Fishy... or is it not a WiiWare title? Versus22 (talk) 22:18, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Fishy (XGen Studios)

We should just leave the game as Fishy. It's named that on Virtual Console Review website. Versus22 (talk) 19:30, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Game/software size

Not sure if this is completely necessary but wouldn't it be handy to add a column indicating the amount of blocks each title takes up on the Wii memory? Obviously we couldn't populate this until the software is released but it might be something to consider in the future. (This is my first ever comment, not sure how to add my IP :S Daft Ada) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.64.224.250 (talk) 11:38, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

That is definitely something to consider when the game are released. -Zomic13 (talk) 21:23, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
What about adding software size to the individual game pages instead of the table? -Wizkidryan (talk) 15:00, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Microtransactions for WiiWare games

It has been announced that two WiiWare games Mojipittan[1] and LONPOS[2] will have downloadable content. Should we add this to the table? Rhonin the wizard (talk) 15:59, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Done and done.Mmark089 (talk) 06:31, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

However, putting yes in the "pay-to-play" column makes it too vague. The game itself is free to play, but what you are paying for is additional content (i.e., extra cities and races in "My Life as a King", or extra question packs for LONPOS). If some people were to see this, they think that "pay-to-play" implies a monthly subscription fee (i.e., just to play the game). Is there any way we can clarify this? Brittany Ka (talk) 20:39, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

"Pay-to-play" is the official name for games with DLC, so it shouldn't be changed. -Zomic13 (talk) 20:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Alright, it's definitely Pay&Play. Just look at FFCC:MOakdjileajlkdhs on the Wii Shop Channel. It clearly says "Pay&Play", not "Pay to Play". So, someone fix that. If no one gets to it, I might do it sometime in the coming days. Josh7289 (talk) 02:48, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Fixed it. -- Comandante {Talk} 19:12, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

rotr and world of goo

rotr might make it onto wii ware. not for certain, though. [3]. Also, 2d boy wouldn't confirm world of goo is coming to wii ware, only that's it coming to the wii in some form (disc or wiiware).Link is from February, so it might've changed. Current reference link does not state it's a wiiware title. [4] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.123.183.141 (talk) 19:06, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Europe WiiWare games

We are geting it in May 2008 here is the link http://www.n-europe.com/news.php?nid=11622 A Candela (talk) 23:17, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't know... That letter from NoE could be a mistake (as noted in the link). We don't know for sure when Wii Software will come to Europe.Mmark089 (talk) 06:32, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Why has it got Unreleased on some of the games and what does it mean? A Candela (talk) 23:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

The word unreleased is on because a release date has not been set for some games. Versus22 (talk) 00:13, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Making seperate articles

Should we divide this article into three (one for each region) like we did for the Virtual Console list? The table is getting pretty big.Mmark089 (talk) 06:36, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Doesn't seem that big to me, I think we should wait until it's released in Europe and America. Rhonin the wizard (talk) 12:32, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
The List of Wii games sort of uses this kind of table, so I don't think we need to put these games into separate articles for each region. Versus22 (talk) 18:11, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
That is something to consider and we should probably discuss it. However, as Rhonin said, I think we should wait until its out in all three regions first. -Zomic13 (talk) 22:29, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually, sorry Zomic13, I take that back. Okay I know for this part I'm discussing improvements for the wrong article, but it's similar to this. I created a regional article called List of Wii games (North America) and I believe we should do this here as well to save size memory for a table. Versus22 (talk) 22:41, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Nevermind, RobJ1981 says it will not be needed. A size limit is not an excuse to make regional articles. Versus22 (talk) 22:25, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Controllers

Should we add a column indicating which controllers are supported for each game?Mmark089 (talk) 06:55, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

I definitely wish controller type was on the list. l8rgator —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.160.230.80 (talk) 17:03, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Redesign

Im suggesting that once WiiWare launches, that someone redisign the page more similer to the XBLA wiki page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Machinehead09 (talkcontribs) 22:34, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I agree. It should be like the XBLA and VC pages. Wilbot (talk) 00:59, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

This page needs to be organized by available and coming soon titles. I'm no good with the whole table thing; could someone split this into two tables? 72.75.204.44 (talk) 22:46, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Such a split is impractical. Each time a game is released, it would have to moved to the "available" table, then you have to take into account that some games may be released on different dates for different regions. -- Comandante {Talk} 23:16, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Multiplayer

There should be a column if it's multiplayer or not. 63.237.58.7 (talk) 15:15, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

There is one, it's called Wi-Fi Connection. Rhonin the wizard (talk) 15:37, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
I think the IP is referring to local multiplayer (aka offline). -Zomic13 (talk) 22:05, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People

What about this game? 76.126.15.78 (talk) 19:57, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

TBA, Unreleased, + SBCG4AP

1. Something should be done about the TBA and unreleased. There is not much of a difference. How about replacing unreleased with unannounced in that region and keep TBA if the game is confirmed but a target launch date is not available.

2. Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is listed as a single game, but it is not a game but a series. 5 games are to be released overall. The first title is confirmed (and has been for a while) to be titled Homestar Ruiner. Someone please change the title but link it to the SBCG4AP article. I would but I'm on the Internet Channel now. It's too hard! frogTape: I was here first! (talk) 03:54, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay... It looks like I've been completely ignored yet again. I'll make the change myselfnow. -An irritated frogTape: I was here first! (talk) 03:38, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I restored the full title for sorting purposes, adding the episode number and subtitle to it, which will presumably continue for additional episodes. The game is best known by its full name; I don't think most people will be looking for "Homestar Ruiner" when looking down the list. Also please ignore the edit comments, I thought you deleted the entire entry, not just changed the name :) Misterkillboy (talk) 13:37, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

MegaMan 9 and WiiConnect24

According to this article MegaMan 9 supports WiiConnect24. From everything I've read and seen, this game does not support this feature. Can someone please clarify. Thanks. -Zomic13 (talk) 19:49, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Doesn't it have online leaderboards? Perhaps that's it. Misterkillboy (talk) 14:25, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
As you all know, yes. Vernon (Versus22) (talk) 12:42, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Obviously people who don't have the game, like myself, don't know. -Zomic13 (talk) 19:25, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Additions to the table

I have added the 4 columns suggested offline multiplayer, controllers supported, wii points and Wii blocks. I think these are worthy additions to the list and am happy with the screenspace allocated. They just need filling in. Let me know what you think Nintendofootball (talk) 16:28, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

I think Points and Blocks are definitely great to have. Controllers supported is good as well, but I'm not entirely convinced of the value of "Offline Multiplayer". Also, the widths of each column should be adjusted as the release dates column is too squished now. -Zomic13 (talk) 16:33, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
The addition of Points and Block columns seems good but I think that the other six columns (Mii Support, WiiConnect24, Wi-Fi Connection, Pay & Play, Offline Mulitplayer and Controller Support) should however be removed from the list due to too many empty squares. There is either no information about Japanese-only released games or the information is unessential (Wikipedia is primarily an encyclopedia). Furthermore, I wish the dates to be changed to yyyy-mm-dd format. Ratengo (talk) 15:48, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Zomic13, I think Offline Multiplayer should be changed to "Players", saying how many players the game supports. Ratengo, we can just mark YES or NO inside those sections. I wonder if the games that have only been released in Japan can mark the needed sections YES or NO in this article from someone who has a Japanese Wii? Vernon (Versus22) (talk) 17:24, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
I like the idea of renaming it "Players". I also don't think the other columns should be deleted and the dates should be mm-dd-yyyy. -Zomic13 (talk) 18:41, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Versus 22, Zomic 13: I personally own a Japanese Wii and so far, I have two WiiWare games (Gradius ReBirth and Silver Star Reversi). For both games, I can mark either yes or no on the article page. The yyyy-mm-dd format is an international standard and should be used, instead of the American dating style (see the PAL Region VC List). Ratengo (talk) 21:09, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm liking the new columns. Very informative. I'd like to see an added table (specifically the blocks used) for the VC articles done as well, but...well it always becomes a warzone over there whenever something new is brought to the table. Sorry I'm getting off topic. Nice job again. Neo Samus (talk) 16:00, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't think all the information is necessary (see my comment on the WPVG talk page). For most readers, this will not be very important information, and it only serves to bloat the article size. However, I do agree with the yyyy-mm-dd format. Not only is it an ISO standard but it also makes sortability (i.e. that little button on top of every column) work. I can work on cleaning that up, which should help a little to decrease the already large article size and make it more readable. MuZemike (talk) 21:50, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Correction — I was unaware that the {{dts}} template maintains sortability while displaying the full WP:DATE-compliant format. I cleaned up all the templates and de-linked all the year and season links, which cut down the article size by 5KB (not bad). MuZemike (talk) 18:46, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

WiiWare Game Lists need to split?

I think because of the huge number of games and the number of columns featured with some unreleased, I think we need to have the lists split into three separate pages. One for Japan, one for the PAL region and one for the North America region. I think it's much simpler this way like the Virtual Console lists where it's in three regions as well and fixes up some of the unwanted "clutter". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhuhn (talkcontribs) 19:24, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

There isn't many games for WiiWare to justify a split at this time. Some of those columns simply aren't needed. RobJ1981 (talk) 22:26, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
No. File size is less than 40KB. While it ideally should be 30KB or less, 40KB is not that big a cause for a red flag, especially in the midst of cleanup and discussion of possibly removing a couple of features from the list. MuZemike (talk) 22:01, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
I made this article to be like the List of Wii games. I'll leave the highlighted release dates on though. Vernon (Versus22) (talk) 23:57, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Split is unnecessary. The list is not very long. Gary King (talk) 15:56, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
I would vote in favor of splitting this article up by region like the Virtual Console articles. The argument about the list not being long is irrelevant because it's just going to get longer and longer. Might as well split it now before it becomes more of a hassle to do so. Briggity Brak (talk) 08:00, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
After the cleanup i dont think a split is neccessary now. Salavat (talk) 01:24, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
COMPLETELY untrue. After the cleanup, the split is more necessary than ever.Briggity Brak (talk) 01:41, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Discussion about the table

I've made a discussion here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games#List_of_WiiWare_games_needs_table_cleanup. Feel free to comment there, if interested. RobJ1981 (talk) 22:25, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

"Wii Points" Column

In the recent clean up of columns the Wii Points column was also removed. While the value of the other columns is debatable, I think it was a huge mistake to remove the Wii Points column seeing as there is no standardized pricing for WiiWare games like there is for Virtual Console games (and even retail games for the most part). Anyone care to take the time and effort to restore/rebuild it? -Zomic13 (talk) 08:25, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Restored it now, sorry about that! Vernon (Versus22) (talk) 20:26, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
No problem. Thanks for taking the time and effort to do so. -Zomic13 (talk) 23:07, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

New version of table (again)

I added a new table with basicly the columns Salavat suggested from Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games#List_of_WiiWare_games_needs_table_cleanup. Vernon (Versus22) (talk) 04:24, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Before I could click on the american dates and only have the games that have been released in america on top. Is there anyway to do that anymore. I think there should be some way for every region to see there games on top instead of having to look at each game indiviually to see if there countries flag is beside it. Is that possible? Ssbb marth (talk) 18:12, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

The previous Nintendo lists (List of Nintendo Entertainment System games, List of Super Nintendo Entertainment System games, List of Nintendo 64 games, List of Nintendo GameCube games, and even List of Nintendo DS games) do not have a release date for every region. On those lists, it's just the year or the original release date (the first region that got the game). Also you can find release dates for the three main regions on the video game info box in the game's article. Vernon (Versus22) (talk) 18:59, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes, but those lists are stagnant, this list is changing every week and people use it to see the newest additions. For practicality purposes it should be made so that it is sortable by region.

I completely agree. It is terribly confusing now. Who cares what the date of "first" release is? THAT is the type of information you should have to click on the game page for. I want to know when the release was/is in my region without having to go to the individual page. Just like the Virtual Console pages, I do not understand why some people want to reduce the usability in the name of making it more "encyclopedic". We all understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, but since it is a dynamic, online resource and the way people use the information needs to be considered. Everyone I know who has a Wii has this page and the region-respective Virtual Console pages bookmarked, and this is the first place we check every Monday because it's always updated first and such a great site. Before, I could come here and sort by region release date and see what the recent releases are; now it's just a big useless list that I have to click to go to another page to get the needed information. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.75.190.85 (talkcontribs) 11:03, November 24, 2008
The new table works fine. A list shouldn't be so cluttered. If you want to know more about a certain game: you will probably click on the game article anyway, so why just go to the article for release date information? If you are looking for a list with tons of release dates: go to a video game site, they are more organized and up-to-date anyway. Also, don't shout. We get your point, you don't need to have caps lock on to prove your point. RobJ1981 (talk) 19:41, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

It worked perfectly fine the way it was, it was not cluttered, it was usable. The whole point was it was extremely easy to see exactly what had changed since you last checked. Now it's a big pain in the butt. I am not interested in a game unless it has been released in my region, like most people who use this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.75.190.85 (talk) 20:52, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

You are not most people; the main point of this list is to include basic information and navigation per WP:LIST. For most people, the original release date is the only one with important encyclopedic value -- the date represents the time where the final product was finally complete and able to hit stores. Other release dates can easily be found within the various video game pages themselves. -- Nomader (Talk) 23:04, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Precisely my sentiments on the matter. Vernon (Versus22) has given this article the cleanup it has needed for weeks. -- Commdor {Talk} 23:08, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
You guys are all missing the point completely. Our unsigned friend is right. We need to be able to sort by release dates per region. This list is completely useless now. You keep arguing that i can go into a game's individual page to find its release date, but that completely defeats the purpose. I don't care what day a certain game came out. I care what game(s) came out on a certain day (today, to be specific). I agree that the table was cluttered and stupid before, but this is not the answer. The answer, as proposed before, is to separate the list by region like the Virtual Console lists. Wiiware is basically the same as Virtual Console, so there's no reason for the Wiiware article to be any different. This solves both of our "cluttered" issues: the extra columns, and the extra entries that no one cares about (I don't need to see a hundred titles in Japanese that mean nothing to me). Why can't we get this right? Briggity Brak (talk) 01:40, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
The list is not useless. Take a look at the other lists, they do not have a release date for every region. What they have is the year of the title or the original release date (likely the first region that received the game). Like Nomader said, other release dates can be found in the game's article. Also, not all the games that are being developed are coming to every single region. Having regional release dates on the list will make it messy because of that reason. Vernon (Versus22) (talk) 02:12, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I totally agree on the new version being useless. The difference between the articles on games for old systems is that 90%+ of the games were released in multiple regions, many could be imported, games that weren't released in one region could be relevant to another, etc. For downloadable games, that isn't the case. The original list was useful because you switched to your region and you could see what games have been released, what games haven't, what games will be, etc. As it stands, the information provided by this table is extremely limited and not useful to the good majority of people. In addition, the Region column's sort bar doesn't even function on this table. The T (talk) 02:20, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, if the list still had the multiple release dates and someone repeated my edits (this table we have now) at the end of the WiiWare service, it would be a lot harder to do as the list of WiiWare games would become bigger and bigger. Also 90% of games being released in multiple regions means there are still some games that will only be released in one region. It would be best if we had it as the past lists (like it is now) by having the original release date (where it was released first) and the other release dates are in the game's article. When a game is released in other regions we mark it on Regions Released column. I think my changes to the table is one step closer of the List of WiiWare games becoming a featured list. Vernon (Versus22) (talk) 04:41, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Are you being serious right now? Maybe you should try READING what people write, and maybe actually address their concerns rather than respond with nonsensical arguments that have nothing to do with what anyone is talking about. I agree that the extra release date columns by region were not good, but the solution is to separate this list into different lists by region like the Virtual Console lists. I hate to repost by basically saying the exact same thing, but when i feel my points have been completely ignored, i feel the need to re-iterate.Briggity Brak (talk) 07:17, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
The lists that you reference (NES, SNES, N64) are all dead lists. There will be no new games for these lists. If somebody is looking at those lists it is to see the past. The beauty of the the way the WiiWare list was is that it told you the present. I agree with Briggity Brak. At some point this list will likely need to be split by region. I do not see why it cannot be done sooner rather than later. I would volunteer, but I don't have the technical expertise to do it. I realize that it's probably not easy to change the list like we're asking, but it seems like a sensible suggestion. Mattsshelton (talk) 15:01, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm glad there are others who agree with me - sorry I don't even know how to sign posts here, I'm not a "wiki troublemaker", and this is the first time I've been moved to say anything at this site (even though I use it daily). Virtually everyone who uses this page does not use it just for "historical perspective", it's an active tool we use. The whole "go to another site" argument is really bothersome - why when it worked perfectly well here? All the information was right here, at a glance, that anyone could want to know. Then just because someone (who doesn't even seem to use the page regularly) decides it's "too cluttered", everyone has to suffer with a broken page that doesn't do anything for anyone, just someone's ego. I'd be absolutely fine changing it up to Region-specific pages; very, very few people in any region are going to care what is unavailable to them in other regions, the Wii Shopping channel is just slow and many of us come here to browse before we buy. Now it's a useless list - 99 of 100 people who come to this page do not care what the "date of first release" is, they want to know what is available to THEM. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.75.190.85 (talk) 18:59, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

OK, I went ahead and made a List of WiiWare games (North America). Hopefully, this will get the ball rolling. Briggity Brak (talk) 07:36, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes i've created List of WiiWare games (Europe) but I still think we should keep the complete list aswell. Nintendofootball (talk) 21:36, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Minna no Theater Wii

I have moved the information about Everyone's Theater Channel from the 'Wii Menu' article here for anyone to use if creating a new article about the title:

Everyone's Theater Channel will be a video on demand service that will offer movies and television episodes to Wii owners. Developed by Fuji Soft, it will use the company's ULEXIT video player for embedded devices which will display DVD quality video.[1]

The Channel will initially cost 500 Wii Points to download, with programs costing between 100 and 400 Points to access based on type of content, which will range from children's programs to films and anime series. Everyone's Theater Channel will be released on January 27th, 2009.[2] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ratengo (talkcontribs) 19:22, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
