Adding Vice Presidents[edit]

I am going to adjust this article to also include a list for Vice Presidents. Any concerns, let's discuss. KConWiki (talk) 00:46, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Change of plans - I began to make a number of edits when I realized that there already existed a similar list elsewhere. Instead of recreating that list, I undid the edits I had already made and just added a link to the following: List of Vice Presidents of the United States by order of their death including cause and place of death, and interment. Notes and Proposals for Article Improvement, early 2018[edit]

These serve largely as personal notes for edits I propose to undertake to this article in the near future ( as in over the next few weeks unless something else distracts me, unless someone else does).

-Leading map-graphic showing every burial site (a la what I've made at List of burial places of Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States)

-default ordering of P's and VP's in terms of their orders of service (this seems to me to be the most natural and appropriate ordering even given the article's subject; persons wanting death-chronology can easily find such by doing the appropriate sort on a future table).

-explicit language somewhere in the article specifying the set-theory stuff about P's vs VPs (x people were presidents, some others were VPs, a subset of both were in both offices). This doesn't mean eliminating entries from one table or another, but just getting it straight how many people were in either or both offices since we in this article are now discussing both offices.

-findagrave citations for every burial (general improved citation, can't go wrong here).

-bg schema to alphabetize P's and VPs upon a sort on demand (I find the present schema lacking).

-Universal bluelinks everywhere in tables, even with redundancy: the whole point of a sexy (because informative and useful and well-designed) well-formatted table is that you can find your way around all the time without stumbling around, while sorting. Imagine seeing "Arlington National Cemetery" in black in one spot, getting curious, and then struggling to find a valid link in the table, only because "first-order" bluelinking was used when writing the thing up to begin with. No, universal, redundant bluelinking within tables is the way to go here, because the content invites the user to shuffle it.

-GEOGRAPHIC LATITUDES AND LONGITUDES! Here's a bit I haven't implemented in my travels yet but it's relevant.

Basically and full disclosure I propose to make this existing article conform more closely with my recent parallel article about SCOTUS justices in format. For that purpose I got good ideas from this article's April 2018ish state but I see improvements which can be made here. MinnesotanUser (talk) 04:45, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Note to self, most of the above has been carried out. cleanup work can be done both here and on corresponding SCOTUS articles (human remains of presidents kept at particular facilities? old locations and old burial sites of both executive and judicial personnel?! MinnesotanUser (talk) 07:29, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • As the default ordering of Ps & VPs has been changed from order of death to order of service I have moved the OP column in both tables to the far-left 1st position, and moved the Site image columns to the far-right 7th position (better flow of information).Drdpw (talk) 21:46, 12 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • As inclusion and comparison of gravesite geographic latitudes and longitudes constitutes WP:OR, I have removed those details from the tables. Drdpw (talk) 15:13, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:List of presidents of the United States by age which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 23:00, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bush 43, Clinton and Carter[edit]

I think somewhere in the article should include future burial place of Carter, Clinton and Bush 43. Jimmy Carter is planning to be buried at his home in Plains, Georgia while George W. and Bill Clinton will be buried at their respective Presidential Libraries. Originally George Bush was planning Austin as his burial palce but after his mother funeral he changed his mind and now will be buried at his Library.
