List of cricketers who have taken two five-wicket hauls on Test debutList of cricketers who have taken ten-wicket hauls on Test debut – Five wicket hauls are notable, and so are ten-wicket hauls. Most sources refer to ten-wicket hauls rather than 2 5-wicket hauls in a match. So this article should be moved and repurposed to be about 10-wicket hauls on debut, which makes more sense. Pinging Vensatry & The Rambling Man as they were involved in discussion about this in FL nomination here. I agree with the sentiments there that 2 5-wicket hauls makes little sense/isn't that notable. But 10-wicket hauls on debut are. _Joseph2302 (talk) 11:05, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Stongest oppose I could possibly muster two five-wicket hauls is notable, that's a haul in each innings of a Test match. Also, there's no such thing as a "ten-wicket haul". Correctly pinging Vensatry as well. The Rambling Man (talk) 11:06, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - As TRM states, "two five-wicket hauls" and "a ten-wicket haul" are similar but not the same. You can take 10 wickets in a match without taking two fifers. Still impressive, but less exclusive and not quite as impressive as two fives. – PeeJay 11:54, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, 15 players have taken ten wickets in a Test match on debut. The Rambling Man (talk) 12:00, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Per TRM/PeeJay. A ten-wicket haul on debut is not the same as two five-wicket hauls on debut, with the list inclusion being for five x 2 (as opposed to say 4 in the first innings and 6 in the second, for example). Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:33, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. For the reasons advanced by TRM above. I'd be more sympathetic to a different kind of rename that managed to avoid the word "haul", which is horribly jargonish. Johnlp (talk) 22:42, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, RS call it "five-wicket haul" so while it's not great, it's what we have. RS also go with "ten-wicket match", not "ten-wicket haul", hence my objection to that creation. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:41, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment − I'm still not convinced that the article is notable enough to warrant a standalone article. But then, the argument does not come under the purview of the discussion. As TRM states, a ten-wicket haul doesn't necessarily translate to two "fifers". Vensatry (talk) 16:14, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
