Support: This could easily be a subheading of the overall list of attractions. Further, it could help clean up the main Universal Studios Florida article. Good idea. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 16:24, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've improved it much more by using wiki tables, as well as moving the previous attractions content from the main USF article to this article.--Snowman Guy (talk) 04:06, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast

[edit]

Universal announced that Nicktoon Blast will close on April 1, 2011 followed by a complete closure on August 18, 2011. Please do not add the attraction to the list until after the confirmed August 18 closing date. As of now, the attraction is still operating.--Snowman Guy (talk) 01:48, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

references

[edit]

This article is nearly entirely made up of original research and is in danger of being deleted unless reliable sources can be located to support the information here. Its surprising that an article that has been labeled "high" importance in it's associated project has received so little attention.--RadioFan (talk) 23:23, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So, as some of you may already know a mass nomination for deletion has just been closed with the result to merge the articles into this article with referenced reliable sources. This section (and its subsections) has the aim of trying to organise the overall process a bit. The first subsection I've got a list of all of the articles which need to be merged. The second is a section to house proposed structures for this article (its current form will not do when 18 articles are merged) - feel free to add your own proposed structures. The third and final section is for any discussion or comments about what is being done etc. Kind Regards Themeparkgc  Talk  23:12, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Structure:

I believe that the current "History" section of the article should be kept, although it needs to be referenced. Followed by that, I believe that the current "List of former attractions" section should be replaced with Themeparkgc's proposed re-structuring.--Snowman Guy (talk) 23:31, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's kind of what I was thinking, as well. Just insert them as separate subheads, although I do agree we need to be careful that only verifiable information makes it in, or that we stick to basic information (what it was, etc.) in the absence of it. --McDoobAU93 23:41, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any problem with that. Themeparkgc  Talk  23:44, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, I also propose that the sections for each park area instead include sub-sections for each former attraction rather then the current tables, similar to the structure of List of former Islands of Adventure attractions; The "Former services" sections should also be re-constructed in this style as well. I believe that this re-structure would help to merge meaningful and significant information from the individual articles (though again, it still needs to be sourced).--Snowman Guy (talk) 00:02, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is sort of what I was thinking. Although some attractions might not have enough information to fill a whole section and a paragraph within a themed area section would be sufficient. Should the "Former services" section be merged up into the themed area sections or should it stay separated? Themeparkgc  Talk  03:06, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm thinking it should be separate.--Snowman Guy (talk) 23:37, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Furthermore, I also believe that former attractions which did not have their own articles prior to the deletion (such as Animal Actors Stage and The Bates Motel Set) should be researched for references to include within their sections in the article.--Snowman Guy (talk) 19:24, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show:

How are we going to merge The Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show? Since it is a former attraction of three Universal parks, should it be a three way merge with this article, List of former Universal Studios Hollywood attractions and Universal Studios Japan?

I'm thinking that it should be merged into the three articles, but each should include specific information related to the particular park's version of the attraction (such as opening/closing dates and park areas). Each should include similar information on the experience of the show.--Snowman Guy (talk) 03:28, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
 Done Themeparkgc  Talk  06:14, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merging complete:

Well it is finally done. All 17 articles have been merged and referenced. I'm sure there is more material that could be sourced and included, however, going from 2 to 59 sources is definitely a huge improvement for the article (see diff or old revision). I'd like to express my thanks to User:Whpq for assisting with 3 of those articles as I probably wouldn't have got around to it for another few weeks. Now, I guess it's just a process of integrating these sources into the history section of the article and effectually resolve the maintenance tags on the page. Themeparkgc  Talk  02:12, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Opening/Closing dates parameters

[edit]

I'm thinking that the current "Opening year" and "Closing year" parameters in the tables shold be expanded to include the full opening and closng dates for each former attraction due to the recent merging of a majority of the articles. I understand that the tables will eventually be replaced with sections for each attraction, so this edit may only be temporary, however, I still believe it should be done. Thoughts?--Snowman Guy (talk) 03:46, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jaws

[edit]

Similar to the issue with "Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast", please do not add the Jaws ride and the Amity area to the list of former attractions until after the January 2, 2012 confirmed closure. The attraction will still be open until then.--Snowman Guy (talk) 02:13, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

On top of that, things may change. They may have to hold off on their plans for any number of reasons. --McDoobAU93 02:18, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also on the subject of "Jaws", how are we going to describe the Amity area in the article after it has been closed on January 2nd? Should a mention of the former Amity area be included in the "History" section? Should the "San Francisco/Amity" section of the article be re-named "San Francisco" with a mention of the previous Amity area in the section? I also believe that the previous shops and restaurants in Amity could easily be added to the "History" section in the paragraph of former dining establishments as well as the "Former services" section.--72.91.148.114 (talk) 02:07, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article should merge with the "List of Universal Studios Orlando attractions" article

[edit]

I think this article should merge with the "List of Universal Studios Orlando attractions" article. 24.180.56.157 (talk) 17:51, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Blue Man Group

[edit]

The Blue Man Group has ended their Universal Orlando residency, this can now be added to the former attractions list. Megacheez (talk) 07:11, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
