None of the refs are independent, reliable sources. Harry Let us have speaks 17:03, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... I will delete the section that is supposedly copyright infringement and edit it. I apologize for any sort of wrongdoing. --Loucasteph (talk) 17:41, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

COI

[edit]

Creator of this article is under discussion at COIN - see Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#Houston_Galveston_Institute_and_related. Loucasteph there are unanswered questions there, for you. Jytdog (talk) 09:20, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We had a discussion on my User Talk page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Loucasteph (I am not sure how to post a within Wiki link, so I used an external link). Jytdog was very helpful and explain COI information to me. He/She explained about steps to be transparent. I have updated my User Page and am now addressing the issues he/she brought to my attention. This has been such a great learning experience for me and I am glad to have been shown the Wikipedia ways. I am looking forward to further involvement in the community. This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... The copyright issue has been addressed. My previous comment regarding this seems to have been removed somehow, so I wanted to re-post it. --Loucasteph (talk) 15:53, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

[edit]

I am not sure if I am doing this properly, but I am placing the Edit Request here for an editor to determine the neutrality of the article. Loucasteph (talk) 21:31, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'd use the Peer Review template, since you aren't actually requesting an edit. They are supposed to go at the top of the talk page. I'll take the liberty of adding one and removing the edit request. Feel free to replace it if you feel strongly about it. Wilipino (talk) 02:34, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! :-) Loucasteph (talk) 14:28, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Loucasteph, before you do anything further could you please address the issues raised here: Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#Houston_Galveston_Institute_and_related. I know you have already done so on your talk page but the information you provided there should be provided on that page as well to help close the matter. Thank you. Oh yes! I need to update that post. Great. Glad you are finding supportive people here. (To create a wikilink you just need to put the last bit of the URL - after the last / - in [[ ]] like this User_talk:Loucasteph.) Harry Let us have speaks 15:20, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

At first glance I thought this article does not pass notability guidelines, but since the man has a distinguished professor position as Fudan University, he automatically appears to pass WP:PROF. FYI. The article needs work regarding fringe issues and to provide more sources to cover him appropriately. Delta13C (talk) 05:04, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've been pondering that too. Jytdog (talk) 05:06, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I think it is a pass on WP:PROF, but I cannot find a reliable means to verify this position from the uni itself or any information on how many of these distinguished professors they issue. I am skeptical but thus far the title appears legit. Delta13C (talk) 05:08, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I did some targeted Googling and could not verify that Cohen is a distinguished clinical professor at Fudan University. He has been head of a collaboration been US and Chinese researchers for some time and was awarded a Magnolia Honor Award for this work with his affiliation with the Shanghai Tumor Hospital.[1] The following Google searches "site:fudan.edu.cn Lorenzo Cohen" and "site:shca.org.cn lorenzo cohen" do not return results that indicate he has been given a distinguished professor. Has this been misreported in the media? Possibly. I am now leaning towards this article not passing [WP:PROF], since he does not seem to hold a distinguished professor position (his academic contributions do not pass this either). He is only affiliated with the Shanghai Tumor Hospital, which is affiliated with Fudan University. Delta13C (talk) 17:01, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I couldn't find that either. Jytdog (talk) 18:40, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
