Transfer fee[edit]

What was the actual transfer fee? The article says £30m citing Sky and The Independent. The BBC says £27m ([1]), The Daily Mail says £31.5 ([2]), The Mirror says £33m ([3]). Southampton FC won't disclose the fee but say "The fee will amount to the highest-ever transfer fee received by the club, making the 18 year-old the most expensive teenager ever" and refer to it as a "world-record transfer". It was officially undisclosed. I believe it is a £27m base fee paid now, with around £4m more potentially based on performances/appearances. Quite normal these days I think. Andre666 (talk) 08:56, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Club number[edit]

According to the MU official website, Shaw does not yet have a number. However, numerous people seem to have other ideas about this. We had a spate of people determined to believe no. 3 had been allocated to him. Now we are getting a spate of no. 28. Several of us have reverted these edits, but they keep coming, though no doubt not from people who are likely to look at this page! Very wearisome! LynwoodF (talk) 14:06, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Manchester United (re. Anthony Martial)[edit]

Here is what I added some time ago immediately before "Chelsea...":

Anthony Martial has since overtaken this record.[1]
  1. ^ "Anthony Martial: Man Utd sign Monaco forward for £36m". BBC. 1 September 2015. Retrieved 5 September 2015.

I put this brief sentence in there, hoping to stop people constantly adding longer pieces about Anthony Martial. I still think it would be a good idea to have this at this point. LynwoodF (talk) 14:55, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fulham[edit]

Luke Shaw DOES NOT play for Fulham! Steam n Whistle (talk) 18:19, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. This vandalism has since been reverted. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:25, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Scoring a goal against Italy[edit]

This article can now be updated. It can put in that he scored a goal against Italy in the first five minutes of the Euro 2021 final, and this was his first ever goal scored for England. Rollo August (talk) 19:35, 11 July 2021 (UTC) I see that some one has put this in now, in the sub-section entitled "Senior" in the section entitled "International career". Height[edit]

Marcus Rashford is 5'11" and he is noticably taller than Luke Shaw. Luke is 5' 10" at the most. Whoever thinks he is 6' 1" is delusional 46.208.1.144 (talk) 10:10, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Until there is a source that says otherwise, we must go along with the Premier Lesgue source, delusional or not. Daemonickangaroo2018 (talk) 16:35, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Using the latest sophisted measuring technology, it can be confirmed beyond doubt that Luke is 5' 9.89" in height. FACT 2A00:23C7:B482:9C01:39FB:2B55:5F96:FDE7 (talk) 12:55, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Blimey, that's specific. Could you provide a source for this figure? Mattythewhite (talk) 12:56, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
