Background ship?[edit]

In the photo, there is a much, much larger ship behind the MS Holiday. Anybody know what it is? --75.170.41.9 (talk) 03:22, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's definately one of Royal Caribbean's Voyager class ships. Based on the shape of the balconies I'd say it's either MS Mariner of the Seas or MS Navigator of the Seas. — Kjet (talk · contribs) 12:28, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I tried the URL mentioned as 1 below 'References': http://www.iberocruceros.com/download/Iberocruceros_NewShip_Grand%20Holiday_100909.pdf, but is didn't work. The Reply was: "Server Error 404.1 - File or directory not found: Web site not accessible on the requested port. The Web site you are trying to access has an IP address that is configured not to accept requests that specify a port number."

Cruise and Maritime Voyages template needed?[edit]

Does it need an entry {{Cruise and Maritime Voyages}} put at the end? (I have put one in and then commented it out as it just shows a missing template message.)

The Vessel has been scrapped, so the page should be moved to her original name. Whenever a ship is scrapped, Wikipedia moves the vessel page to the vessel's original name whenever possible. I know there are exceptions especially if a vessel's later name is more popular, but I think the vessel page should be moved. Angelgreat (talk) 23:11, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Support (provisionally) According to WP:SHIPNAME#Ships that changed name or nationality an article about a ship that changed name or nationality should be placed at the best-known name (my emphasis), with a redirect from the other name. One item to note is that the ship's article states that it was the first of three Holiday Class ships built for Carnival. Being the namesake of a ship class is tilting me towards Support, in this instance. Itsfullofstars (talk) 22:20, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks for finding the relevant policy. That makes sense. I've struck my oppose. It does seem likely that Holiday is the name under which it was best known, for the reason you say, and because it spent far longer under that name than any other, though I'm not quite comfortable supporting the move on the basis of that speculation alone.
