Stars

[edit]

The gameplay section includes the line "There are over 35 stars to collect, but more is needed to advance." First, "is" should probably be "are", and how can more than the number of stars that there are be needed to advance? Overall, I think this should just be changed to "There are over 35 stars to collect." Fred151 15:13, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Mario Pinball Land.jpg

[edit]

Image:Mario Pinball Land.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:07, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Super Mario PinballMario Pinball Land — The Japanese version of the game is named "Super Mario Ball". The English version is "Mario Pinball Land". Neither uses the name "Super Mario Pinball", so there's no reason to leave the article title as such. Given this is the English language wiki, it'd make more sense to use the name given to the English release. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:59, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The English version is actualy Super Mario Pinball. Mario Pinball Land is only used in America. Megata Sanshiro (talk) 13:49, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Um...no it isn't. It's Super Mario Ball in Japan and Europe. My point about the name "Super Mario Pinball" being incorrect in either case stands. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 19:57, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. It's either Mario Pinball Land or Super Mario Ball, not Super Mario Pinball unless someone can provide evidence of that name's use. I have undone your cut-and-paste move though, since that's not the correct move procedure. We will now require an administrator's assistance if it is to be moved back to Mario Pinball Land. But...didn't Sanshiro do the same thing despite the decision made and lack of admin assistance? Or am I horribly blind and didn't notice he himself was an admin... -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 01:01, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
He was able to do it because the page history consisted only of a redirect. You could have done that as well, but since you did a cut-and-paste move the page now has history that prevents pages from being moved over it. He wouldn't be able to do this either. Page Name

[edit]

Hello.

This is in regards to the name of the page supposedly. The name has been under its original Japanese/European name for about a year or two, maybe a few more, and all of a sudden some random user changes it to the US name, which it had been beforehand, and nobody complained about that. How come when I change it back all of a sudden it’s wrong?

Upon a request from another user, I’m gonna declare a vote on what should be the page's permanent name. I pick “Appose” because the game was made by a British company and “Super Mario Ball” was the game's Japanese and European name. Luigitehplumber (talk) 18:39, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stay at Mario Pinball Land. I think this is a simple WP:RETAIN case, much like Sonic 3D Blast. The page was created at Mario Pinball Land, has resided at Mario Pinball Land for much of its existence, has always used American English, and most of its sources use the Mario Pinball Land name. You boldy moved the page without discussion. JOEBRO64 19:06, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then. It’s still confusing to me why you would decide that the US name should be kept now rather than the whole thing happening a couple of years ago… Luigitehplumber (talk) 15:38, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
