Most releases in Matelo's lifetime use the spelling "Ferret", also commentators in recent books (Michael Dregni, Alain Antonietto). The recent (2014) Hot Club Records release "Rare Recordings" uses "Ferré" which is the spelling preferred by Matelo's sons Boulou etc., but I have always believed this to be a modernization. To cope with this I have set up a separate wikipedia entry for "Matelo Ferré" which uses that spelling but redirects here at this time.
