"This year?"[edit]

An encyclopedia article cannot have the phrase "this year" in it, since there is no reference to which year that is.

Soda[edit]

It would be good to at least mention their soft drinks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.74.239.136 (talk) 04:35, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maximus[edit]

I don't know if Wikipedia has a standard for articles about breweries, but if it even creates one, it seems that one element in all such articles ought to be a list of the beers produced over the brewery's history. F. X. Matt not only made Utica Club and Saranac, but also Maximus Super, for example.

Also is worth noting that during the 1960s and 70s, as part of a promotional campaign for Utica Club, Matt (then West End) hosted brewery tours which began with a ride in a special trolley and ended in a "gay 90s" style pub with all the trappings. This was a tourist attraction in Utica, NY for decades.

Fourth oldest?[edit]

The lead section says, "It is the fourth oldest family-owned brewery in the United States, having brewed beer since 1888." What are the first three? I think Yuengling (1829) is the oldest and August Schell Brewing Company (1860) is the second oldest. Then what's the third oldest family-owned brewery in the U.S.? I think this should be specified in the article. Mudwater (Talk) 01:42, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at this a bit more, I think the third one is Straub Brewery (1872). Perhaps I'll update this article to mention those three. Mudwater (Talk) 11:49, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
