Hello,

Thanks for creating this page. Maurice Rocco really needed to be on Wikipedia.

I was wondering where I could find more of his music on the internet. I have seen some videos with him on youtube, but it's not enough! Can someone please tell me where I can watch the films he appeared in, and where I can listen to more of his music?

I am not very familiar with editing on Wikipedia, but I hope it's alright that I have written a message here.

Hello MN, I'm glad you like it. I'm not done (there are a couple of important newspaper profiles I haven't used yet). Feel free to edit (and I'd really recommend creating an account) where you see improvements need to be made. General chatter tends to be discouraged around here see WP:NOTFORUM, but I created this article because I do think Rocco has been needlessly forgotten. There's not much out there, for someone who was such a top draw in the mid-to-late 1940s. I am fortunate enough to own many of his original 78s, because so little has ever been re-issued digitally. You might get better results making queries of some of the internet discussion groups related to classic jazz or the 78rpm era in general. Birth date[edit]

The date of birth has been difficult to figure, because of various discrepancies in sources. His obituary listed him as 56 years old, which could make his birth date as late as 1920. However, older sources give his birth date as early as possibly 1914. I have selected a 1915 birth date as three sources are in agreement on this point, and I am surmising that the obituary gave the later birth date because of his claimed age, possibly as given to the hotel where he worked and stayed. I have found it common for obituary birth dates to be incorrect as artists, then as now, wished to be perceived as younger than actual fact. 78.26 (I'm no IP, talk to me!) 18:52, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
