Why were the pictures removed
is there a meaning for removing the pictures??? they WERE necessary, you know!!! --Too Cool 12:21, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- It appears that they were deleted, maybe they were not of fair use. --Inahet
- Is it possible to locate a picture of Hamed without any copyright protections? Perhaps with a title? Lincoln187 08:13, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
He was also european champion
Revocation of honour
I've been trying to find other people who've had UK honours revoked - if there are several it could merit a new category. So far I've only found Lester Piggott Pontificake 13:48, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- There is a list at List of revocations of appointments to the Order of the British Empire --ukexpat 15:38, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
pointless, useless
Quit with the Tupac references. They are TOTALLY pointless and really fucking annoying!
Also can someone re-write parts of this, or explain whats going on, 'cos some of the English is so bad I can't work out what is meant to be being said.
e.g.
" Quite notably, Prince Naseem's trainer Emanuel Steward has made criticisms to the training schedules of his fighter before and after the fight according to the BBC channel in which the trainer has threatened to quit training Prince Naseem"

Khan
Personally, I think this paragraph is rubbish: really ?
One of Britain's rising stars, 2004 Olympic Silver Medalist Amir Khan, is seen by many a somewhat heavier successor to Naseem Hamed. Beyond superficial resemblance, Khan shares Hamed's high level of confidence and penchant for flash. Hamed has been on hand to root for Khan in professional bouts on more than one occasion. Some would argue that aside from being of British-Asian decent that the two have little to nothing in common, based on the fact that Khan always treats his opponents with respect and is constantly seen as being humble.
Anyone else agree? I tempted to remove it completely. Stu ’Bout ye! 08:57, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. Maybe it could be placed in Amir Khan? -Inahet 19:13, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I don't see the point in mentioning it anywhere. The only link is that they are both of Asian descent, which isn't worth mentioning. Stu ’Bout ye! 19:25, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, the "confidence and penchant for flash" and British-Asian connection are a similarity, but many boxers who fall into one or indeed both camps --TacoJim 14:57, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
hamed isnt asian but arab
Yemen is in Asia, so he's both. Arabs are by definition descended from either Asian residents or North Africans who are descended from Asians. 79.180.238.145 (talk) 15:56, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Mr Burgin vs. Eleasha Hamed
Although this alleged incident does not involve Naseem Hamed, I feel that it warrants inclusion due to the involvement of Mr Burgin and Nassem's wife Martin451 (talk) 17:32, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Speed limit
Apart from the fact that overtaking over a solid white line is illegal, can anyone add to the article the speed limit of the road in question --81.105.251.160 02:06, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
It was 60 miles per hour, but has been reduced to 50 mph, since Naseem Hamed's accident. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.42.0.206 (talk) 08:36, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Meaningless 'honours'
There is the following quotation of Hamed's awards from two associations:
"Naseem Hamed has been presented Best Sporting Legend award from various Profesional Bodies including Sha Max Asian Association and Britanix Sporting Centre."
I cannot find any reference to these 'Professional Bodies' other than in this article. They are hardly noteworthy so I would suggest removal. 80.2.63.55 (talk) 23:04, 28 February 2009 (UTC)Fightboz --- also had the name of the man who gave him this award so looked even more suspicious, duley deleted.
Neutrality warning
I don't understand why the article has a neutrality warning. There is no discussion of it here. The article reads as fairly neutral to me (not that I know anything about boxing); possibly there is rather a lot of discussion of his decline, but not extremely so. So I have taken the liberty of removing the notice, since there is no discussion of it here and it seems unwarranted. Ben Finn 16:12, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
The only thing I found bias was the "spectacular ring entrances", which were flashy and long but not all spectacular. Of course its only my opinion. Maya Levy 20:00, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
I found this to be very bias and untrue about how he lost his belt: "However, when the fight was underway it was immediately obvious that Hamed was being exposed and it was clear that he was not nearly talented enough to live up to the image he created in the 1990's." --H4eafy 15:30, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I have now removed it from the section on him being dethroned. --H4eafy 15:37, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Spectacular is accurate, as he was making a spectacle, which is the noun root of spectacular. 79.180.238.145 (talk) 15:58, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Removed an entire paragraph under 'legacy' which was all point of view, not sourced and pretty much unverifiable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.188.246.45 (talk) 05:13, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
There is still quite a bit of pontification in the article. I corrected the absurd 100/0 amateur record. CharlesGoodwin (talk) 11:07, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Can someone please delete File:Naseem Hamed.jpg from commons? Someone was trying to use it on this article as "own work". Wild Ones76 (talk) 10:06, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
Hyperlink "Southpaw"
In the statistic section, the link "Southpaw" leads to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southpaw#Southpaw instead of directly leading to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southpaw_stance. The latter should be used. I would change that, except Wikipedia's new edit mode is totally confusing. Anybody? --88.66.32.231 (talk) 23:39, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Nationality vs. Ethnicity
Mr. Hamed is a Briton by definition, a citizen of the United Kingdom. He is not English, which is by definition, an ethnicity of Germanic origins. I have had my edit changed several times by individuals bent on blurring the line between being Englishman and a Briton.
- Hamed was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire. He's English. Tigerboy1966 19:52, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
- He was born in England, but that does not make him English. His nationality is not English; no one's nationality is English. His nationality is British, as a citizen of the United Kingdom. His ethnicity is Yemeni Arab. There is a distinction between the terms. To be English means to be a member of the English people.
- The lede of the article English people states that "some are also descended from more recent immigrants". That would certainly include Hamed. Please sign your comments. Tigerboy1966 21:46, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
- OP, you're taking just one meaning of the word "English" - not even the most common - and acting as if none of the other meanings exist. In its broadest and most common usage, "English" simply means of or to do with England. If you can have an English cheese or an English muffin, then it's very strange to exclude someone born and raised in England, on the grounds that he doesn't fit your preferred (but far from only) definition of the word.
