DYK material

[edit]

This is DYK material. Anyone any ideas for the hook? DTM (talk) 14:29, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DiplomatTesterMan, Flexibility and multi-disciplinary approach is what I'd suggest: The government said it will now follow a multi-disciplinary approach. If a student wants to pursue fashion studies with physics, or if one wants to learn bakery with chemistry, they'll be allowed to do so.[1] SerChevalerie (talk) 04:28, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The hook for this could be:
ALT0... that India's new education policy will allow students to pursue fashion studies with physics or bakery with chemistry?
ALT0.1... that Indian students will be able to pursue fashion studies with physics or bakery with chemistry?
ALT0.2... that Indian students will be able to pursue fashion studies with physics?
ALT0.3... that under India's new education policy students will be able pursue flexible multi-disciplinary academic subjects such as fashion studies with physics or bakery with
DTM (talk) 05:22, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan, ALT0.3 is the most accurate but a little too wordy. ALT0.1 and 0.2 are misleading, since studies can't yet pursue these courses, they will be if this is implemented in the future. ALT0 is middle ground, sounds good. Maybe change the tense to that India's new education policy will allow students to pursue fashion studies with physics or bakery with chemistry? SerChevalerie (talk) 10:08, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
SerChevalerie Have a look at these hooks. Feel free to modify them as you see fit.
ALT1... that India's new education policy opens up the doors for foreign universities to set up campuses in India?
ALT2... that India is moving from 10+2 to a 5+3+3+4 schooling system?
ALT3... that India's new education policy proposed offering Sanskrit at all levels of education?
ALT4... that India's new education policy introduces coding from class 6?
DTM (talk) 11:09, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan, the current versions of ALT0 and ALT4 are good, they will attract a lot of new users. SerChevalerie (talk) 11:13, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. The first hook is very hooky but since it is an example from the newspaper, I suggest writing it this way:
  • ALT0a: ... that under India's new education policy, students will be allowed to combine fashion studies with physics, or baking courses with chemistry?
  • Images are freely licensed. QPQ done. ALT0a good to go. Yoninah (talk) 20:01, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
