Nowa Wilejka

[edit]

According to the page, only in 1957 was Naujoji Vilnia incorporated into the city of Vilnius, hence its present designation as a neighborhood. What I want to confirm is whether the (Polish) name Nowa Wilejka applied to it as a town during the WWII period. If not, to what geographical entity did that name refer? -- Thanks, Deborahjay 13:09, 7 March 2007 (UTC)]][reply]

See comment here: [1]. It covers the same issue.radek (talk) 17:53, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Nowa Wilejka: [2] 679 hits. If we put "Nowa Wilejka Lithuania" to eliminate Polish lang sources we get 142 hits [3].
  • Naujoji Vilnia: [4] 518 hits. "Naujoji Vilnia Lithuania" (to eliminate non-English hits) gets [5] 470 hits.

142/(518+142) (counting non-Polish hits vs. Naujoji Vilnia hits inclusive of non English sources to make my case as bad as possible) gets you about 21%. Which is still way higher than the 10% required. In other words Nowa Wilejka is used in about the quarter of English language sources.radek (talk) 19:42, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
