Sloppy reporting ?[edit]

September 18, 2001, San Diego 10news.com reported Abdussattar as "a retired San Diego State University professor who also serves on the city's police review board" http://www.10news.com/news/964031/detail.html , adding that he "rented a room to Alhamzi and Al-Midhar from September through December last year" [2000] FBI confirmed Alhamzi rented the Clairemont apartment according to same report.

Orphaned references in Nawaf al-Hazmi[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Nawaf al-Hazmi's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Why not? Because there was no such conflict that would enable him to fight "alongside Chechnyans sometime around 1998" following the end of the war of independence in 1996. Conflicting information[edit]

Early in the article it is stated

"Mihdhar left Hazmi in California for Yemen in June 2000."

Later in the article it states

"In September, Nawaf and Mihdhdar both moved into the house of FBI informant Abdussattar Shaikh, although he did not report the pair as suspicious.[23][24] Mihdhar is believed to have left the apartment in early October, less than two weeks before the USS Cole Bombing."

Location of the restaurant[edit]

"Immediately after entering the country, al-Hazmi and al-Mihdhar met Omar al-Bayoumi in an airport restaurant."

The 9/11 Commission clearly states that the meeting took place at a halal food restaurant on Venice boulevard.(p.217). So do more recent reports and documents, namely "Release of FBI Electronic Communication dated April 4, 2016 Pursuant to Executive Order 14040 § 2(a) (Sept. 3, 2021)." More specifically, this source states the following: ""PII did not recall talking to BAYOUMI about the MEDITERRANEAN GOURMET RESTAURANT but conceded he may have, and added if he were asked about a place to eat he would have recommended the 'MEDITERRANEAN GRILL' on Venice Boulevard..." (p.4)

I understand Newsweek is a reputable source, but I think the 9/11 Commission Report and other government sources should supersede it in terms of authoritativeness. Whether it was the Mediterranean Gourmet Restaurant or the Mediterranean Grill, the fact remains neither of these restaurants was located at LAX but rather on Venice Boulevard.
