According to this book Ph.D, Lavanya Vemsani (2016-06-13). Krishna in History, Thought, and Culture: An Encyclopedia of the Hindu Lord of Many Names: An Encyclopedia of the Hindu Lord of Many Names. ABC-CLIO. ISBN 978-1-61069-211-3., Nimbarka was raised in Mathura and was lost in ascetic thoughts. .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 09:06, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MRRaja001: Should we really mentioned Date of birth? Because according to some sources, he flourished during 13th century, but others state that he lived in 7th or 11th century. .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 09:38, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@245CMR: All Jagadguru's dates are not accurate, We mention in Wikipedia most widely accepted dates. For example see Adi Shankara's or Madhva's article. - MRRaja001 (talk) 10:22, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MRRaja001 Ok 👍 .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 10:26, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@245CMR: Madhvas don't have work of Nimabrka (Madhvamukhamardana). Please remove the note. It is also believed that there was another person with the name Madhva during Nimbarka's time. We don't have Manuscript of this Nimbarkas work. B. N. K. Sharma also mentioned about this in his research work "History of the Dvaita School of Vedānta and Its Literature: From the Earliest Beginnings to Our Own Times". In mentioned page 97 of this book that manuscript of "Madhvamukhamardhana" attributed to Nimbarka is present in Madan Mohan Library in Benares. In Satyanatha Tirtha article also i used this. Please go through the lede section of Satyanatha Tirtha. Thanks. - MRRaja001 (talk) 10:32, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@245CMR: I'm little busy these days. I'll help you when I have time. Until then keep working on other articles. I know philosophies of Adi Shankara, Ramanuja and Madhva clearly. But I have to research about Nimbarka and analyse his philosophy by comparing with others. Hope you undestood. - MRRaja001 (talk) 13:58, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@245CMR: No, i don't know. - MRRaja001 (talk) 08:18, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MRRaja001: As of now, I have got little bit of Nimbarka's ideas. He opposed the veiws of Adi Shankar and Ramanuja, stating that Brahman and Atma are diff, but unity between them is the one. .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 12:05, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Birth place

[edit]

@245CMR: He is widely believed to have been born in Paithan in Maharashtra, which is a center for Vaishnavism. There are also many Nimbarka followers here. He is also believed to have born in Maharashtrian Brahmin family probalbly Deshastha Brahmin. I think you need to update this.

  • Citations:
    • N. Patnaik (2000). Sacred Complex in Orissa: Study of Three Major Aspects of the Sacred Complex. Gyan Publishing House. While some believe that he was a Telugu Brahmin others contradict it and say that he was from Paithan , an important centre of Maharashtrian Pandits. Nimavats put on white garments as other Vaishnava sadhus do.
    • James G. Lochtefeld (15 December 2001). The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Hinduism, Volume 2. The Rosen Publishing Group. p. 473. According to tradition, Nimbarka was a Telegu (southern Indian) brahmin who was born in the city of Paithan in central India, but lived much of his life in the northern Indian Braj region, where the god Krishna is supposed to have lived.

Probably these might help. - MRRaja001 (talk) 09:38, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Image in the infobox

[edit]

A new editor keeps changing the image in the infobox from File:Nimbarkacharya's holy icon at Ukhra Mahanta Asthal(West Bengal).JPG to File:Sri Nimbarkacharya.jpg

The existing image is a real photograph of an icon of Nimbarkacharyaat Ukhra Mahanta Asthal in West Bengal. The new image is a partially computer-generated image. If you look at the edges of the person, you can see that someone has selected the background in the original and deleted it. My guess is that it is really a breach of copyright - I saw something similar done to a photograph of a tennis player 20 years ago.-- Toddy1 (talk) 10:24, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
