Continental Membership[edit]

The statement, "nor is it now or ever been an associate member of the OFC", is incorrect, since the OFC list as its Associate Members Niue and the Northern Mariana Islands. If the OFC official website list that this is true, then it can be assured that the NMI are an associated member. Therefore, I am going to correct the statement. Revert[edit]

I have reverted this article for several reasons. Firstly, most of the matches I removed were unofficial games. Yap and Pohnpei are not national sides, they are part of Micronesia and the games against Palau were against Palau A and Palau B, which don't sound like full international teams to me. Secondly, whether or not they were in any way 'official', there is no reason to list all the games the team has ever played. Third, I had added other information in the article, for example the details about EAFF full membership. Stu.W UK (talk) 00:43, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And you based your criteria to remove some matches on what? To have team A and B in the some tournament is not so uncommon, that's why i just added the result against the A-team Calapez (talk) 13:11, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It is impossible to know who was representing the team at those tournaments. As the islands don't seem to have had an FA before 2005, there is no reason to believe the players were nationals from the Marianas, rather than a representative team. I also do not see how they relate to the current team. However, if you still want to add those fixtures I won't object- just please don't revert the whole article.
