Talk:Oaks Amusement Park/Archive 1
Photo request
[edit]Dear Wiki editors March 9th, 2007
I am just noticing your chapter on the Oaks Amusement Park today. I am a born and raised Portlander and just completed working with a film crew from Hollywood at the roller rink. I would like to suggest that with all the great history and info that you include in this chapter about the Oaks Pioneer Park, that you should include an inteior photo of the roller rink and the overhead pipe organ as this is the big draw hear to this park. To not include a photo of this is difficult for me to understand. The photo of the park in the distance in youor main page article is nice but shows very little other than a few fair rides. I am also a professional photographer and astronomy teacher so i would offer my services to contribute the photo work and an aesthetic photo- Please feel free to contact me at the below info.
Thanks for any consideration of my suggestion, -Mark Mark seibold 13:37, 10 March 2007 (UTC)comment moved from Talk:Oaks Pioneer Park by --Onorem 13:40, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the reqphoto tag. It'd be nice to have roller rink/organ photos, but I added a photo of the entrance that certainly helps "place" the park. tedder (talk) 12:14, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Why the lame view from the river? (Sorry, I don't intend to offend). Why not a great aerial shot? Google Maps is so much better nowadays than it used to be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.137.32.145 (talk) 07:46, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- No offense taken. I took those photos as a way to illustrate the parks environs. Around that time, many Oregon editors were taking photos and I expected better photos would quickly replace those. We cannot use Google's images as they are copyrighted. If you happen to find yourself flying over the park, please take a photo and submit it! Thanks, —EncMstr (talk) 18:00, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
I just uploaded some images of the skating rink, and have more to upload of the park. I noticed there are others at Commons now, too, so I'm say the lack of imagery has been resolved. ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:16, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
