Name[edit]

Yes, that is true, Odilo is the Portuguese translation for "Otto". Both of his parents came from Germany. Scherer is of 100% German descent, a German Brazilian. 91.66.8.69 (talk) 16:38, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do we have a reliable source for his birth name being Otto? At present the lead does not agree with the infobox. www.examiner.com/article/cardinals-meet-to-prepare-for-conclave-can-we-expect-peter-the-roman gives its source as... Wikipedia! Hybrid2712 (talk) 12:33, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
