Plagiarized?[edit]

This entry cites no source material for its claims and maintains a consistent style and voice throughout which shouldn't necessarily happen on a Wikipedia where editing is a collective function. I can only conclude that someone either cut and pasted this from another website and read it in a book and copied it here. Neologism, and original research[edit]

Ngrams shows nothing for "pansy performers" and notes a single result for "pansy craze". Checking further, the term is a neologism invented by George Chauncey for his 1994 "Gay New York" book,^[1], already present in the references in the article. All other uses (not many) refer to Chauncey. Being a neologism used by one author and not having picked up any steam, at a minimum, the article probably shouldn't have this title. Secondarily, it's a compilation of a number of mini-biographies, and it's not clear what the unifying subject of the article is. For starters, I've added an {{Unfocused}} tag to the rest of the issues, but it's way past time to list this for Afd. Mathglot (talk) 07:35, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
