English Translation

[edit]

I have translated this article into English using the same sources as the article in Portugues. There is no Wikipedia page on Our Lady of Acheropita yet. It appears that there is a famous cathedral in Italy called Cathedral of Our Lady Achiropita; there is an image there called the Madonna acheropita, or "The Madonna not made by hands." Sources: https://immaculate.one/mary-of-the-day-august-25-our-lady-acheiropoieta-of-rossano-cosenza-calabria-italy; https://www.roman-catholic-saints.com/our-lady-of-acheropita.html

An associated wikipedia page explains "Acheropita": Acheiropoieta (Medieval Greek: ἀχειροποίητα, "made without hand"; singular acheiropoieton) — also called Icons Made Without Hands (and variants) — are Christian icons which are said to have come into existence miraculously; not created by a human.
