  •  Not done Reminder: Lacher: built as 300-seat Union Theatre in 1922; designed by architect Francis Jacobberger; offered "second-rate" vaudeville and was a grind house; Third Avenue was widened in 1930, eliminating the front 30 feet of the building and resulting in its current facade (also given name 3rd Avenue Theatre); became Paris in 1963, which began 13-year stint as X-rated cinema; home to local drama groups for around 20 years; recently re-opened as "video-projection porno house"; marquee is 15 feet tall and created in 1938, making it the oldest surviving theatre sign in downtown; 1940 "reader board" is also the oldest of its kind still functioning in Portland; "No vintage interior features remain, and seating has been drastically reduced" (page 86) ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:39, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't look closely at what you've found, so forgive me if you know this, but it looks like it is non-contributing but within the NRHP Skidmore hist dist. Also be sure to add info on the Storefront Theater: OE article. Valfontis (talk) 04:43, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Valfontis: Thank you. This article has already been an interesting one to work one because various sources recall the history of this venue a bit differently (the Cinema Treasures source, for example, differs quite a bit from the notes I included above from Lacher's book about the history of local theatre buildings). ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:01, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. My PSU drama teacher was in True West there in 1986 or so, so I've always only known it as Storefront Theater or empty! I think the sign used to say Storefront Theater on it as well. Valfontis (talk) 05:06, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2016 update[edit]

I reverted this edit due to lack of sourcing, but acknowledge the article needs to be updated. I don't know when I might get around to an update, but I've placed an "update needed" tag at the top of the article in the meantime. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:58, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, URLs don't work in the infobox's image parameters. Provide the name of a page in the File space. The editor adding information about the future may want to read WP:CRYSTAL first. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:38, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Another unsourced update, which i reverted. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:09, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User also left a note on my talk page. I'll try to get around to updating this article soon. In the meantime, I've reverted recent edits again. These are good faith edits, but not entirely constructive, so updates by more experienced Wikipedia editors would help. ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:26, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am marking this section as resolved since the provided source has been incorporated into the article and the venue's official website has been updated. Additional article requests should be added in a below or new section. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:59, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am marking this section as resolved because the article has been updated to note the venue's current use and new owners (by name). If there are more requests to update the article, please use the section below or create a new section. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:57, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

thanks/sorry/trying to help[edit]

hey guys. while the theatre did indeed used to be a porn theatre, it isn't anymore. the venue owners have put this daunting task on me. i have only ever read wiki, never tried to edit, so this is all a little overwhelming and complicated (don't judge me lol). so, basically, the info i need in the beginning *needs* to be only about it's new avenue. it is a 230 capacity, newly renovated space. It has a 10x20 LED wall, 2 interior bars and super fancy glowing chandeliers. We host live music, DJs, comedy, burlesque and more. Obviously, the history is the history and it's important that that info remains. I just need for when people google "Paris Theatre" for the wiki sidebar to read NEW info, as it confuses people who are wanting to come to the venue and I fear, makes them not want to come in *just in case*. I know i've been annoying, endlessly editing. i'm sorry for not being patient. i just want the info to be accurate asap. if you need new external links, etc, i am happy to send you info. the owners are only brad mccray and chris lenahan. uhmmmmm i think thats all! thanks!!!!!!

Welcome, and thanks for your efforts! Before editing the article further, please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. You may want to post information, with links to reliable sources like news articles, that back up that information, here on the talk page instead of adding it to the article. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:24, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Emmamame: you have told us what "needs" to be in the lead section of the article. But it's Wikipedia's needs that matter here, not your employer's needs. As you are connected with the subject of the article, your views count for less than those of other, unbiassed, editors; you should not be editing the article at all, but may describe your proposed changes on this talk page, and leave it to other impartial editors to decide whether to accept them.
Also, the article is about the premises, not the business which currently operates there. You are wrong to delete referenced statements about the history of the building, and Another Believer has correctly reverted those deletions. Maproom (talk) 17:26, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Emmamame: I made some updates to the article based on this source. You mentioned somewhere that one of the owners was 'bought out', but this is not mentioned in the source, so I cannot add that detail. Wikipedia requires that facts be sourced appropriately. For this same reason, we cannot add details about new features (you added the sentence, "The interior is decorated with beautiful, glowing chandeliers, 2 bars, a stage and a state of the art, 10x20 LED display") unless you're aware of reliable news sources we can use to verify these claims. Are there other changes you wish to make to the article? Again, please keep in mind we can only add information that is verifiable in reliable sources like newspaper articles. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:46, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Image request[edit]

It would be nice if this article included an up to date image of the front exterior, since renovations were underway in 2016. Also, perhaps a couple interior photos? ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:52, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
