I would like to reach Perry Farrell. Can anyone get his eye and/or ear?

His film 'The Gift'

His film 'The Gift' ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107011/ ) should be mentioned on this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.121.138.170 (talk) 22:24, 14 August 2005 (UTC)

Farrell recent history

I recall listening to a radio interview with Mr Farrell where he was talking about a mission to save slaves, it seemed like quite an event and i find it strange that it's not mentioned. Have I got it wrong? It would be good to know more. Paul from Middlesbrough - UK 194.168.3.18 (talk) 15:57, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm changing the caption of the picture of Lollapalooza 2005

I'm changing the caption of the picture of Lollapalooza 2005. The image says the photo was taken on the 24th July 2004 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.111.214.7 (talk) 18:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

WTF

He was not born "Simon Bernstein". His film is not called "The Gift" either, it's called GIFT (God Is Forever There). Perry never had aids, this was a rumour passed around because of the slip of paper on the cover of Ritual De Lo Habitual that says "postive" on it. It is a pregnancy test, and it isn't for Perry. Perry's mission to save slaves was related to and subsequently through this site: http://www.iabolish.com/ (rather, I think he was one of the people who helped found that site). There is a famous picture of him in Africa, and he spent $1 million of his own money to free 2000 slaves. I do not have the time or energy to add all these things to the main article. They are all readily available at various Jane's Addiction websites if anyone cares to look hard enough. Philosopher Torin 22:15, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

How did his mother commit suicide as a young girl.... before he was born?

Can you clarify who was a surfer? Perry or his father? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.205.224.155 (talk) 09:45, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

I was concerned about that too. ghostbear616 01:51, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Lead section

Sentences like "as the frontman of the critically and commercially successful Jane's Addiction, was one of the pioneers of alternative rock" are full of POV that does not belong in the lead section of the article. Additionally, Jane's Addiction were nowhere near pioneers of alternative rock; they helped break the genre into the mainstream, but it existed before they formed. Porno For Pyros

...it states "Farrell put the band on hiatus to concentrate on a Jane's Addiction reunion; however there are plans for a third album in the next few years." seriously???? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.244.42.141 (talk) 12:22, August 29, 2007 (UTC)

Can someone add some info on the girl he was married to/dated in the 80s and 90s. She appeared in the Classic Girl video and appeared as a statue on the Ritual cover.

P.S. I thought his name was Simon too. I think this incorrect info came from a Nirvana or Kurt Cobaine book in the 90s. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.115.184.60 (talk) 00:03, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes, he was incorrectly referred to as being born "Simon Bernstein" in the unauthorized "biography" by Dave Thompson entitled "Perry Farrell: The Saga of a Hypester". This is well established as false in various interviews and sources.

The "girl" he dated is Casey Niccoli. She directed the video for Been Caught Stealing, and received the MTV Video Award for best video in 1991 for it, on stage with Dave Navarro. Philosopher Torin (talk) 02:21, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Death Speculation

Multiple sources are speculating that Farrell may possibly have been involved in a plane crash this morning. UNTIL IT IS CONFIRMED, it needs to stay out of the article. Thanks. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 13:58, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

This may sound like a troll

This may sound like a troll, but is a serious question. I could have sworn Perry announced he was afflicted with AIDS at one point in the 1990s? The article seems to make no mention of this. I'd normally dismiss it as crack-smoking on my part, but it seems like a memory with such a huge impact, being a fan and all. Anyone? Jgw 14:28, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

No. That was just a rumor sparked by an "HIV positive" slip of paper among the art on the cover of Ritual de lo Habitual. Farrell has denied having AIDS.207.224.16.216 (talk) 23:51, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
The rumor was actually based on fact, but untrue. He and his then girlfriend Casey Niccoli were both notified that they had been exposed to the virus and were suggested to be tested. They both tested negative. http://lonelygirldiaries.tumblr.com

Wife?

"In 1993 Farrell and his wife released a film called Gift that features Jane's Addiction." The only wife mentioned didn't happen until 2002, according to the article. Was he married more than once or are the dates wrong? 24.4.132.165 (talk) 22:01, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm also surprised that the article doesn't mention any of the drama associated with the JA breakup(s) and PF demanding 65% etc (as mentioned in the JA article) 24.4.132.165 (talk) 22:04, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
His first "marriage" was a spiritual union with Casey Niccoli, which was a spiritual marriage since both were against an organized marriage where a piece of paper dictated they were married. Parry later denied the marriage to avoid owing any of his assets to Niccoli as a wife and creative partner. They settled for a nominal amount, which Niccoli used to direct music videos for bands like Black Market Flowers and Gumball. She was given right to go after Farrell as a "common-law spouse" for money, but refused. http://lonelygirldiaries.tumblr.com

Surprised nobody has listed and cited the stage name ....

Perry Farrell - "peripheral" - get it? Check out articles in MOJO and Musician. 68.19.0.195 (talk) 08:30, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

Surprised you missed this in the first paragraph of the Music career section, which has been in the article since at least 2009. Hoof Hearted (talk) 21:52, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
